geetings fellas, got a problem on my hands with a styer SSG 69 PII, I am in search of replacement parts. I cant find any canadian venders anywhere. have broken bottom metal. ( plastic) I would like to convert it to the metal aftermarket version that takes AI mags but who sells them in Canada? Im at a loss here and in need of advise. any help is good help!!

If you find out who does, let me know too. From what is seen on the internet, there was a company out of Scandinavia somewhere who made bottom metal adapters for the SSG. However it price was slightly prohibited for this guy.

Steyr Mannlicher now has a better Canadian importer/distributor located in British Columbia. You can get all the SSG 69 parts you need directly from them - at good prices. Just go to the Steyr Mannlicher site in Austria to get their list of distributor/dealers.

The company that sells the aftermarket SSG 69 metal trigger guard/mag well is also located in Austria : Styria Arms. Again just Google.

Snowy Owl ... thats handy to know. I wonder if the Styria product is still available and if it functions ok. Mcmillan makes a stock for the SSG69 but it uses the factory plastic trigger guard/magazine housing ... i purchased a used model M pro that had been mounted in a Robertson stock ... very excellent stock but it also used the factory bottom parts and mag. There is of course another person on this site who is rather uncomplimentary about the Steyr SSG and who has said that he had acquired the metal trigger guard and mag housing but was not happy. I dont know any details

What do you mean by better importer / distributor since we now have less Steyr on the market ??

CDI used to make bottom metal for them that allowed the use of AI mags. They don't make then anymore. Trust me, I know, cause I called them, hoping that they might have one sitting on a shelf somewhere that they'd be willing to sell. No such luck.

So who is this distributor? Looking at the Steyr Mannlicker web site, they don't list any distributor in Canada.

Well, the last time I checked the McMillan site (ten minutes ago), there was no SSG 69 stock for sale. I am afraid that they don't make them anymore.

As for the Styria Arms trigger guard/mag well, it looks like that it is available and most people are really satisfied with it. I still prefer to use the factory plastic part because the latest trigger guard/mag well has steel bushings inside the screw holes.

Thank you for that info. I didnt know about the steel bushings. Thats good news - I had to replace the ‘M’ bottom piece but wasnt due to the action screws holes cracking but rather one of the side tabs that retains the magazine. The new one is working fine. It’s a 270w which I really like a lot. I bought it after being impressed with an older 1950 Model (still have it) and the Model M Pro was a big factor in my decision to buy an SSG Pll (and a pretty little .243w sporter :) ..... and an M300 —- hmmm —— I may have ‘an issue’ here!)

An old thread, but we have the bottom metal kits for the Steyr SSG69 and the Model L in stock from Styria Arms,
These just arrived from Austria.

We also have the original plastic Steyr trigger guards here as well.
