August Purchases

And NAA, I saw that super clean No.4 they had there yesterday...they had a No.4 there with the prettiest wood I had EVER seen on an Enfield.

Yeah, that's one of the one's I'm talking about...

Sunday I bought a Sported Swedish Mauser that someone put allot of work into, and it even came with a big pile of reloading stuff for the 6.5x55. I couldn't take it home yet as the CFC is closed on Sundays. :(

That the one with the black Ramline stock? I saw it in there on Friday. Pretty good deal for the asking price, I thought. If I didn't have two 6.5x55mm sporters already it might not have been there Sunday... ;)

I take it we are discussing Pullens?

Other Aug purchases yet to be photographed include a matching K98k bayonet, BRNO K98k, Some more german and swedish militaria and a few other goodies. Must find time...

I have a k98k bayonet on the way as well. I sent my 858 off to Wolverine to get fixed, so when it comes back, I might take some pictures of that and post them up here...probably by the end of the week, or next week!

Yup that's the one...I sensed it was in danger. :D

Actually I think that's a record for me at Pullens...less then 10 min' and I buy a rifle, and I just went there for ammo! :D

I wish I lived near Pullens. The ALWAYS have something I want, sadly I only get to buy from them when a buddy out there hooks me up :(

Just wondering. What does a WW2 banner have to do with gun collecting? Should these pictures not be on another forum.

Well, it has leeway as its a historical purchase and being this the Milsurp area of the board there are most likely many who would have an interest in it..

Other then that yeah, one would say it doesn't belong but better here then anywhere else on the board. its at home here.. :dancingbanana:

Nice stuff guys.. been a long time since I've been able to post on one of these here threads.. and today will not be that day. alas I have no money therefore no new purchases!

Pullens is THE saving grace for shooters here, other than that you'd better have lots of money. The one with the nice wood, is that the one John rebarelled with the new-in-wrap barrel?

When I was there Sunday they showed off a Garand D model, with original sniper scope attached...In really nice shape. :)

Waiting for this Sht. 22 IV* that uses .303 inserts (like a Pattern 18). Should arrive today from Jose Reis. If anyone has any of these inserts, please let me know as I will pay big for them!

I know its not a firearm but it is Milsurp related. I just picked up my first crate of 800 rounds of 7.62X54R. The rounds came in 40 small blue cardboard boxes inside a solder sealed, metal box, inside a wooden crate.
The rounds have a lacquered steel cased, a copper washed projectile with a silver painted tip. I hope they do well in my new to me Mosin at this falls Milshoot.
I really like the idea of buying ammo in a crate. I may buy ten more crates just to be on the fully stocked side of the supply chain.

Claven2,
Ammo came from Elwood Epps shipped through UPS. Not the cheapest but at least I have a nice big box of ammo for the fall Milshoot. I looked around the web for this ammo from a local source and found zilch. They do have some modern factory stuff at LeBarons but it was really expensive.
The Elwood Epps sales person said they had two cases..I got the first so there may be one left over.
