Rare Commercial French 1892 8mm revolver

I'm working on getting the revolver verified right now it has never been registered in Canada was on the phone with CFC all morning about it and several non-registered restricted's.

The revolver is in a central BC RCMP detachment so I'll have to get a verifier there which maybe tough unless the detachment has one.

I found that link and sent it to the RCMP they researched it turns out it had a letter in front of the serial number so were not able to use it to confirm date.

I have searched that site repeatedly can't find any info on it that has a serial number that doesn't have a letter in front of it.

All the military revolvers had a letter as the first digit in the s/n. So if the revolver is marked St. Etienne with a lettered s/n that's easy to date.

Trouble with the commercial revolvers is that they were sold by several different sources and may have had different numbering patterns for each.

Currently we have to get this and several other restricted and prohibited firearms verified to get an FRT # before the CFC can proceed any further with us acquiring these guns.

Turns out some have never been registered in Canada.

And that verification stays with you forever. A ghost registry.

Spoke with the verifier that is helping me today he has suggested that we don't fight the restricted classification just get it registered then when it is in my possession we will try and find evidence that it is an antique.
