I was in a local store today, they had a used GSG StG-44 I was contemplating, when the clerk mentioned, “If you like that, you should come to the back room and check something out!

So there they are, 5 MP-40’s just arrived. I know these are highly anticipated.. but I was rather disappointed in them. I found the folding stock in particular to be awkward, there was not really a positive lock open on it, and the butt had a very loose feel. Bringing it to the shoulder, it either got caught in the armpit and folded horizontal, or went to the shoulder and folded over the top. Not a fan of the magazine either.. overall left a taste in my mouth of a poorly executed design.. I wanted one, but now looking elswhere.

ive watched several videos comparing it to an original mp40. The originals were loose as well. All videos watched the 22lr version worked flawless. They were all american with the fake suppressor. Im still debating whether ill buy one or not. They look fun. Im waiting untill bullseye has them in stock and ill drive up. I have a bday coming up

man.....my feeling on this gun couldn't be more different, I find it well thought out, well made and great build quality, my folding stock works perfect and is positive open and closed, loading up the mags is a breeze and they are well made, glad I bought mine

First impression is that I love it. Love the weight and the overall quality of the gun.

Folding stock feels solid and locked in place. Cant wait to tear it apart give it a clean and get it to the range this weekend.

It looks like a fun toy like the StG-44.... like the StG44 I cant see a practical use for the mp40 in 22lr other than as a face smiling plinker.... there are better options for hunting that would be lighter and probably more accurate.

I'd like to try one sometime but probably wont buy one unless I find one inexpensive and used that I can justify buying. If cheap enough I justify buying guns looking at the purchase price as a rental deposit which is returned (80-100+%) when resold. I only pay full price for the new rifles that I really want to have as keepers.

Got mine yesterday. Pretty sweet little gun. I have not broke it down or shot it. The stock I think is pretty solid and locks tight with out wobble. The bottom of the butt plate hits the plastic stock lower when folded and came with a small gouge out the plastic.

After closer inspection it appears the stock might be painted black and paint is what was scratched off. Also it looks like my folding stock had some small blemishes and were touched up at factory? It is a pricy little toy but after fondling it for a bit I think it is a well designed unit and if reliable will sit high in the mix!! So far no regrets!

yeah.. Semis are a tough sell for me at the best of times, so pricey...less practical semis like this MP-40 are fairly unlikely to make it into my own collection. That said, I'd love to try one...and seeing one hanging on my wall would bring a pretty big smile to my face! :)

Shoots great,feels great,well worth the $$,,hey its a MP40!!! (in a 22)
my MG34 keeps telling it its an imposter,,,but they get along

Got mine, love it. Runs great. Stock is nice and tight. Only downside is you really need to snuggle into it to get a decent sight picture. But i think it is a great plinker.

I don't know what I would be able to use it for... can't shoot it from a bench with the long mag, no cheek weld for any kind of accurate shooting. I have other GSG products and find while they look cool, they are built cheap...barrel liners instead of barrels, plastic and MIM moving parts, not given the impression they are built to last.

I get what your saying. For the money, there are endless models that offer better value from a practical point of view. Certainly many models would be more useable. But for me it was to fill a spot in my collection, such as it is, being kind of the only game in town for mp-40s. And i think it would be a blast as a pop can killer.

After taking the gun apart, i think the mim parts will offer pretty decent longevity in 22 cal. And everything is easily replaceable given parts availability. But it definately won't be everyone's cup of tea, especially given the price of admission.

Sorry .22lr just don't do it for me. Waiting for the 9mm to be approved. Saw it in Forida and loved it

My boys and I took ours out today and put a couple hundred mini-mags through it. I need to play with the sights that came with it, and adjust for windage. We mostly just sprayed with it, had some fun. My older boy liked it a lot, my 8 yr old found it too heavy.

This was a full mag at 25 yds shooting with it supported on a bag, aiming at the center. Fairly controlled fire, but I wasn't very accurate with it. I found it sort of uncomfortable to shoot, but I was struggling with everything I was shooting today...

I had a few failures when charging, but it got better after a few mags. The top round doesn't seem to have a consistent seat in the mag and the nose seems to drift around but I expect that's because with the straight mag all the spring pressure is on the rims vs a curved mag like a BC.

Just had mine at the range for the first time. Flipped up the rear sight which raised the rounds to a decent height at 25m. Thing ate up my Stingers without a glitch, the first round I had to check to make sure it fired, there is zero recoil with the weight of this guy. Love it! With the rear sight flipped up it wasn't too difficult to use the stock to get a sight picture, just a tad uncomfortable. Worth it for this guy!

This weekend I put 200 rounds through. Managed to get windage and elevation right. It holds 3" grouping at 50 m with iron sights. I used shortest front post and
I am happy. Only thing is after 200 rounds stock is not as stiff as it was, some of the screws become lose and bolt handle almost fell off.

Put 300 rounds through mine earlier this week. Love it! I did not do any groups, but was just plinking at steel and paper.

Channeled my inner Dirty Dozen and Great Escape.

Did a trigger bar mod, (basically make the slot smaller) resets the trigger faster. Easier to do mag dumps.

Now to research and source a mag loader.
