I am looking for a supplyer of the old paper 12ga. hulls with a rolled crimp.Just wondering if anyone here knows of a suppler in western Canada that carry's some of the old black powder shotgun reloading components.

Depending on how you plan to do the roll crimp, plastic shells work better as the heat softens them and you can make beauty roll crimps. That is if you are using the crimper that fits on your drill or drill press. The only other things you need besides powder and shot is proper sized felt wads, preferrably lubed with b/p lube, and card wads. One dram of powder is equal to about 27grs. of black, though you will have a tough time equaling smokeless velocities due to todays poorer quality B/P. MT Chambers sells all manner of BP Shotshell wads and lubricants.

MagTech sells brass shotgun shells specifically made for BP loads. Haven't a clue who carries their stuff up here though.
If you're thinking about loading for a damascus barreled shotgun, don't. They're not safe to shoot with any load.

I guess I should not mention that I shoot almost exclusively damascus barrels. They do need to be examined by a knowledgeable person and should be tied to a rubber car tire and a heavy charge fired through them before shooting from the shoulder. In the case of doubles, the biggest concern is rust between the ribs. Also the wall thickness can be measured with special jigs and dial guages and should exceed .020"

I checked with Bellydancer, he doesn't wish to sell his paper hulls. He says Remington still make them ?

Back in the days when paper shells were the standard, I reloaded many with blackpowder. It is remarkable how quickly the black burns through the paper tube, and ruins the case. Smokeless just didn't tend to do that. I would second ben hunchak's recommendation to use plastic shells. If you are loading for an old gun, check the chamber length, many are not 2 3/4".

The reason I'm looking is I purchased all the original equipment to reload the old way and would like to do up a display case but I am missing hulls and the clear shot size tabs that were placed in the mouth of the finnished load.

If you only want a few, it is probably cheaper and easier to buy a few loaded paper shells at a gunshow.
