Not another PC9 case but you’ll like this one

So was doing some searching around on the net and came across these guys.
They make cases for all types of firearms and I’m already putting my order in for another case. Took about 8 days from ordering to my doorstep. Very friendly people to deal with and will custom fit your case for you at no extra charge within reason. I had to get them to custom this one to fit our 18.5 inch barel.
Ok enough talking here are some pics

So your saying any gun case you have your gun in is considered being a conseald?

No I'm saying any gun case that disguises the gun as a musical instrument might be considered concealed. I'm not entirely sure, I know this has been discussed before, and I know a guy was charged with concealing a gun by wrapping it in a jacket, but you know how discussions about things like this go around these parts, lots of opinions, little legalese to support their claims...

From another thread: (emphasis mine)

Actually, the debate stems from a court case dating back into the 90s. The Supreme Court Ruled if its in a case is not obviously a gun case, such as a brief case, then the case should be labelled to indicate that it is a firearm.

The idea of a concealed weapon is to conceal the fact that it is a weapon from public view. A gun in an obvious gun case is not deemed concealed, but a gun in a case with the intent of hiding the fact its a gun, such as a gym bag or a guitar case, IS concealed, unless the case is labelled. At least thats what the judges ruled, a ruling whose practical implications has been largely ignored by law enforcement for the last 25 years, and hotly debated on internet firearms legalese forums.

You can read about it yourself at R v Felawka. https://www.canlii.org/en/ca/scc/do...QAAAAEAEC8xOTkxYmNjYTEwMDAwNjQB&resultIndex=1

But the manufacture advertise it as a gun case in a funny shape so it's just another gun case.

I saw people used Nanuk case for their music instrument so it doesn't make them guitar case either only.

And what is the purpose of that funny shape?

Its product name is "Peak Case Ruger PC 9 Carbine Multi Gun Violin Case"... Its clearly intended to look like something thats NOT a gun case...

Interesting
To me it’s no different than me having my gun in a mtm tool box wich I use for my handguns. It’s a locked boxed so I’m following the law.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about it, the one guy who got charged that was referenced above was on transit with a gun wrapped in a jacket IIRC, and nobody else has been charged that I am aware of. Just be aware that you're playing in a legal grey area and if a cop wanted to go on a power trip, he could change you for concealing the gun. Its good to know the laws/precedence, even if you don't follow them to the letter.

Honestly, I use the soft case for my electric guitar for my break barrel shotgun sometimes, it doesn't fit in a normal gun case when its folded open, its so short when the action is closed it always slides to one end of a real gun case which makes it awkward to carry, and I have more guns than cases going to the range sometimes...

This is the next one I’m getting
Will have to get it custom made as the CMR30 telescoping stock does not collapse all the way to keep NR

I was under the impression you could use whatever for a case but it's supposed to be labelled "firearm" somehow. So a guitar case with a few rock band stickers with one mixed in that says "arme a feu" in an AC/DC font would be both discreet and meet the intent of the law. I'm not a lawyer though and our gun laws are stupid.

Great find though, thanks for sharing.

Yes you can use anything as a firearms case if its labelled as such. I would think you're still playing in a grey area if you do as you suggest though, as now you're trying to conceal the fact its labelled. The entire purpose of labelling it would be to identify the fact that it contains firearms.
