I recently picked up a 870 MCS and the remlok quick change stock system was disabled. The correct cross pin is not there, and is replaced by a threaded sleeve and a bolt on each side.

Is this how yours came?

RommelRommel,
Was this one of the stand alone 18" guns? With just the Speeded stock? Any chance you can post a photo?

Yes, this is the stand alone 18” barreled gun.

I do have the other two stocks from S&J tho. I’ve had the cross pin duplicated from those stocks but the little set screw with a sprung ball bearing will be harder to copy, plus there’s no access to the back of the stock so I’ll need to find another way to make the quick change system work.

I’ll try and get a pic up later.

Any chance you could describe that or post a picture?

I used the little spring that come with SJ hardware oversize safety for remington 870, work perfectly. I'm sure the ball should work too but I reused my old one. The original spring lose its tension, the pin came lose during recoil. That's why.

Thanks for the tip. I cold-blued my duplicated pin today and used those exact parts to finish the install.

I'm glad you sourced the parts. If it was not going to work out for you; I would of suggested the Cadex option. But it seems your are on your way to having most of an original kit.
