Gun license system here is very complex. But there are middle men who work as agents for firearm dealers. Firearm dealers charge large amout of money for whole license process.
7.62×39 and 7.62×51semi or select fire are Prohibited calibers. And a special Prohibited Bore license is issued by federal government only. 5.56/.223, 5.45×39 and .308 winchester semi auto rifles are Non Prohibeted and NPB(non prohibited bore) license is issued usually.

So the laws make as much sense as ours at times(7.62x51 vs 308)

Seen anything interesting or unique in the markets there?

NP762 is a P226 norinco-made clone in 7.62 Tokarev cartridge. The one sold in Canada come with a beefy rubber grips. The ones sold in Pakistan look like plastic and are slimmer. Check out the link.

Got it. But extra chinese made grips are hard to get from market. Most of the people replace stock grips with Hogue rubber grips here.
