I decided to upgrade from my NP58. I find the Sig style grips don't fit me just all that well compared to a CZ pattern pistol, but I found the pistol itself to be well made and very accurate. I shopped around and found that Tenda had an IWI "Baby Eagle" on sale with Forbus double mag pouch and holster for $549.00 while everywhere else was selling them for $700.00+. Having done a lot of research, I was confident in the quality of the pistol, so I ordered one.

It arrived yesterday, and while I have not had it out to the range yet, I am confident that I made a great choice. Finish is even, fit is incredible, and the S/A trigger is sweet; D/A is not bad either; I can't get over how smooth and even it is.

The De cocker safety is going to take a bit of getting used to; it is not as intuitive as the Sig pattern; but that should not be a big deal. First polygonal barrel I have ever owned too. I have read that they will feed just about anything as far as bullets go; despite polishing and opening up the feed ramp on my NP58, it was picky, and would not feed any polymer coated bullets. Period.

Anyone else have any experience with these pistols?

Very under-appreciated guns in my opinion. I've had a 9mm and a .40, and only sold them as I don't like manual safeties.I've recommended them to friends who want a solid gun WITH a manual safety though.

Thanks, If I like it; I am already considering a 9 mm.

I had a 9mm Jericho for a few years. It was an okay pistol for the price. It wasn’t as accurate as my buddies CZ 75b.Kinda handled like a CZ somebody attached a brick to. My biggest issue with the pistol was the POI. It unfortunately shot a fair bit lower than the sights.A 6 O clock hold would have been okay but this pistol required that you shot over the target. Unfortunately the sights aren’t adjustable.

I'd have one or 2 in the safe if we could get the frame mounted safety version.
I don't dig the high slide mounted safeties.

Not uncommon. I have adjusted my loads to adjust my POI in various other pistols. For me, a lighter bullet loaded faster will shoot higher than a heavy bullet loaded slower (Muzzle jump; not bullet drop at pistol ranges) Recoil springs may have some effect as well; but so far I have not played with springs of different weights, only going by what others have told me.

I like heavy pistols; I am presently shooting a NZ85 in 9mm and POI for me is best with 124 gr. bullets with max powder loads (great pistol for the money, nice trigger and eats any ammo); my 1911 likes hot 200 gr. SWCs loaded hot, my NP58 shot best with light to moderate loads under a 180 grain Copper plate, truncated cone, flat point.

Curious, did your 9 have a conventionally rifled barrel, or polygonal?

I think those de-cocking safeties are a European mil or police spec. thing. I have seen these as either a standard or an option on a lot of pistols including some CZ75s and 78s. With the Sig and Sig Pattern pistols, it is much more convenient. It is the one feature that they do best.

It had a polygonal barrel.

I got one just to try it and it will out shoot my HK p7 or as good, it is the short slide with a threaded barrel, 3 mags , holster , 9mm 600.oo new.
I am not in love with the safety, but I don't use it anyway.
Only problem I have had was a odd light strike on hard primers, the fire pin spring is a bit over heavy and short stroke
I like it , this from a 1911 guy.

Jerico is my second favorite pistol in the safe close second to my CZ Shadow. A solid accurate pistol, and magazines fit both my Shadow and Jericho.

I was contemplating standardizing on the Jericho/CZ platform after I had my fill of 1911s. I actually had a CZ85B 9mm racegun in stainless for about 6 yrs but polymer guns got in the way.

Great choice, Meroh!

I am still a fan of the ergonomics of the 1911; I have a Norinco 1911 .45 with the adjustable sights in full satin chrome finish. It functions perfectly, and I shoot very, very well with it.

I also have a Norinco NZ85B 9mm and it's fit and the double action, as well as my ability to shoot it has sold me on the CZ pattern guns. In fact, I advertised for a few weeks trying to find a used NP40 (same pistol in .40 S&W) as all of the new ones are long sold; but I was unable to find one. I started looking at various other "affordable" options, wanting to keep it below $700.00 all in, including used CZs, and did find one that was well used with the owner still wanting $700.00 for it. After doing a bunch of research and finding this pistol with a holster and mag pouch included it was a fairly easy choice. As I stated above, I liked the decocker on the Sig pattern pistol, and while not as ergonomic as the one on the Sig, it is a feature that I don't mind.

As is my custom with any new gun, I have it completely cleaned and re lubed with oil; the slide has been lubricated with die-makers grease for break-in; and I will be shooting it a bit later today, and will report back.

First trip to the range...

We started out with one of our winter .22 fun shoots; I got first in Pistol and scoped rifle, and second in open sight rifle. Once that was out of the way I tried the Jericho out with only one homeload; 200 gr CPTCFP from Campro over max. HP38 powder load. From bench rest at 10 yards I got a tight 5 shot group at point of aim (was shooting 6 0'clock and that is where they were hitting.) I shot a few more 5 shot groups free hand, and I was shooting low and a bit left. I need more practice. Monday, I will be trying lighter bullets, and a lot more through the gun then also.

Very happy with it right out of the box!

Second trip to the range with about 250 rounds of various home-loads through it. It fed everything without an issue, including the last of the x-metal home loads that my NP 58 would not feed at all. It shoots tight groups low with a standard sight picture; but by sighting with the white dot in the front sight above the rear sight, it puts everything in the middle of the target at both 10 and 20 yards. The mags do indeed only hold 10 rounds of .40; but interestingly I did manage to get 15 9mm in one of the .40 mags... and all 15 rounds fed flawlessly in my NZ85.

This pistol and I am going to have a long friendship!

This is the first restricted gun i am going to buy but in 9mm....my son wants the Sig p226 x5 short. Just waiting for both our RPALS to arrive

I've never tried the polymer frame ones (don't like plastic guns), but in my research, it seems, based on the experience of others, that they do not have nearly as nice a trigger as the all steel ones. If I upgrade my 9, it will be for an all steel one!
