I have a Winchester M70 featherweight XTR in 7MM Mauser (7x57) it was made in one year only and i don't think there could be to many of them. how much would a mint condition one be worth any ideas?

Value?

I too have a very nice XTR feather only mine is in 257 AI, it came with a bag of brass, set of AI Redding dies, rings and bases. It cost me $650.00,
Now when you say mint, there isn't a mark on the wood and the blueing is 100% perfect? If that is the case you might ask for $750.00,tops. FS

bull####

I have the same in 270 and i get offers of 375 $...

I'm selling mine right now for 635 with the scope split shipping and no one wants it.

Martinbns - In the last year or so I have seen at least 6 move on this site for more than the $750 sugested, usually within hours (sometimes minutes) of being listed.

the_big_mike - you have adversised here a m70 XTR, not an XTR Featherweight, they are very different animals, and produced in very different volumes.

I would pay the proposed $750 in a heart beat for a nice 6.5x55, 257 Roberts, or 250-3000 in the "mint" condition noted in the initial post.

Whatever, a pushfeed winchester isn't a real winchester. I personally find them heavy and clunky although fairly accurate. The featherweigth is really a standard weight rifle, if you don't get controlled round feed, just buy a lightwegith remington mountain rifle or model 7.

And yes I've owned one, it was an accurate but clunky rifle.

Been looking for a minty shape Win 70 featherweight in 6.5x55mm for years. Yeah, I'd probably pay $750 for it... ;)

I had that identical gun, 7x57 and picked it up for $450 on the board here. XTR's don't seem to be very valuable, good rifles but you won't get rich off the sale.

Agree concerning the standard XTR rifles... have an 80's vintage used/excellent Win 70 XTR .30-06 I picked up a number of years ago for $350. I wanted it because it had the 24" barrel with iron sites that I could use as a backup rifle on a moose hunt. It's been a great rifle and an excellent accurate shooter.
