Tikka confusion ?

When I bought my superlite, the had a hang tag right on them that said 5.9lbs...

T3, not T3x

Would buy another in 22.250 or 223 in a heartbeat. Most of the weight savings from the fluting is ahead of the balance point which makes them less muzzle heavy. Drop it in a wildcat stock and you're in the 5.2lb range....

Wondering what sort of scope you would put on a Tikka T3x in 6.5 Creedmoor or 7mm08 ? Would want it to fit nicely ! I'm over 60 so I find that I would probably want variable for sure and something a little more powerful that a 3-9 X 40 .
Thanks

The Tikka is nice and light; I'd make sure to stick with a lightweight 1-inch scope to maintain that gun's nice handling qualities. I'm also on the wrong side of 60; lightweight has always been appealing to me, and is even more so now.

I just recently picked up a Savage Lightweight in 6.5Creed and mounted a Leupold 2.5-8x36 in Weaver aluminum rings; might have saved a tiny bit of weight by using the popular Talley Lightweight rings, but I like the easy interchangeability afforded by Weaver-style rings/bases. This gun won't be going anywhere to hunt other than here at home, and 8x will be more than sufficient for the way I will use it, i.e. coyotes and possibly a loaner for deer, all within 300 yards max.

I'd go with a Leupold 3.5x10x40 if it's a hunting rig. You can find one used on the EE for around $500

I now have 2 Tikka rifles. T3x Hunter walnut stock blued barrel in .270 cal and just changed the scope from Bushnel to Nikon Prostaff and will be sighting it in this weekend. The other is the T3x Lite in 6.5 Creedmore with a Vortex 6x18x44 scope and I've only put 20 rounds through it and running a brush through it every 3 rounds, but does it ever shoot nice! 1" group @ 200yds with cheap Winchester 129 gr ammo.I now have Hornady precision hunter in 140 gr to see if i can get tighter grouping. Love the gun

Dilligaf, just curious as to where you got that DNZ mount? I'm looking for a 1" low one for my gf's compact lite in 308.

Dilligaf . Was wondering how much clearance you have between the frontal bell of the scope pictured and the rifle barrel ? Would heat from the barrel affect the scope ?
