Does anybody have information on where .40 SW or .45 auto CCI shotshells can be purchased. I'm from Calgary, and have called all of the usual sources including P&D.

I am almost positive that these are legal in Canada, seeing as how the sell them in .22 all over the place.

Thanks:canadaFlag:

I'm sure that they are legal. I currently have a supply of 44 mag and 357 mag. You might try calling Ellwood Epps in Ontario. I bought some there about a year ago.

To confirm, they are legal. I called Ellwood Epps and they only have .44 mag and .357 mag like you said.

They also currently have some 9mm if anybody is looking for these. I don't own a 9, so no dice there.

Thanks.

Suggestions? How would one go about doing this? I don't need step by step instructions, as I am generally pretty good at "Red Greening" things, but I would like some tips on assembly and materials.

Empty brass, powder, card/wad for over the powder, shot, another card, tamp into place, seal with white glue. Tamp after each card with an appropriately sized wooden dowel.

Good for rattlers and vampire bats.;)

I'll be darned if I can find the loading data for shot encased with white glue in any of my reloading manuals:rolleyes: regardless sounds like fun:shotgun:

There is data for the shot capsules floating around. A little extrapolation and away you go.;)

I use the same recipe to make 44mag shotshells. Surprisingly tight pattern out of a 629 out to 15-20 feet.

Ive never doen it, but Mike Venturino makes them for his 45 colt by adding powder, seating a gas check on top, pouring the shot over, then seating another gas check (inverted) and applying a crimp.

Shotshells out of a rifled barrel produce patterns with big holes in them. The shot string flies in a spiral sending the shot who knows where. They're kind of useless.
"...loading data for shot encased..." Load for the weight. Gluing shot together makes it into a bullet.

Well, no one is expecting to get a perfect pattern out of a rifled barrel. They are only as useless as the factory shot capsules, which are on the shelf for a reason even if only to provide entertainment.;)

BTW, I said the glue was to seal the overshot card into place, not to glue the pellets together.

Why not try it instead of trying to shoot "patterns with big holes in them" in someone elses fun?
