Swiss rifles at tradex

Received my K11 from Tradex today, ordered on the 15th. It's as advertised- all matching, mint barrel, wood shows use. Very satisfied. And the best part is that no one was home but me when the package arrived therefor this rifle doesn't exist!

And aren't the K11's less common? Something like 160k vs K31 560k made?

184k of the K11 made between 1914 and 1933.

As much as I do prefer the Schmidt Rubin bolt over the K31 bolt, the K11 isn't as accurate, and practically it has a 300m minimum setting vs the K31s 100m minimum setting. Plus with the shorter sight radius on the K11 it is much harder to shoot as accurately as a K31. All that being said they are still fantastic rifles, like all the Swiss rifles!

The one I am trying to keep myself from buying at the moment is one of the Swiss Swords Tradeex has listed in the bayonet section, not sure if I will make it though.

Just received a K11 as well. What a beauty. I haven't seen a notable difference in accuracy, although theoretically I suppose the 31 should be more accurate. And the 1911 even more so.

Makes me laugh these once were a “niche” item and would go for cheap (250$) as the ammo is expensive.. then they got hyped and now 1000$

I ordered a carbine k11 instead of rifle k11. I do not know if I did good. Are carbine k11 more desirable than rifle k11?

You did good buying either, both are great firearms. Personally my G11 is my favourite firearm so it will always get my vote, but overall I think they are both roughly the same for desirability.

The K11 has a really short sight radius which makes it hard to shoot very accurately, vs. the massive sight radius of the G11. That being said both are sighted for 300m to start, and the G11 is much less convenient to carry being a big long rifle.

K11 is Karabine. 1911 and 96/11 are the long full length rifles. All use the same action.
Front sight assembly on the K11 is different. Original K11 version later used on the K31.

Swiss nomenclature for these rifles varies according to the three main language used in the various 22 cantons of the country, German, French and Italian, with a smaller bit of Romanisch for spicing.
LG or G for German Lang Gewehr "long rifle" or Gewehr for Rifle: LG 1889, LG 96/11, LG 1911 or G1889, G96/11 and G1911
And Karabine(r) German for carbine length rifles. K11 & K31

M for French Mousqueton for Karabiner and "Model"of the long rifles+year. this is where most of the confusion sets in.

There were also short rifles, but most were converted into K11s
That covers the majority but not all.
