Just looking for some help from anyone that has tackled this before. I’m trying to remove the stock flash hider from my Troy par. Holding it and trying to remove it with the wrench didn’t work of coarse as it’s too tight for that. I ordered a barrel vise and should have it Friday hopefully that will help but I’ve read that some muzzle devices can be pinned or welded. I can’t visually see anything on this one are there any other tricks that would help with the removal? Any help or advise would be appreciated thanks.

They are tough to remove. I did my 300 Blackout and was highly disappointed to find the flash hider thread pitch is non standard. Maybe a touch of heat to help but my experience is Troy is in love with locktite.

heat will break down locktite

Thanks guys. I received the barrel vise I ordered and that’s what I need to get it off. It was on really tight. The threads are 3/4”-24tpi which was disappointing.

The .223 is on tight but will come off with some patience by holding the receiver firmly in a good vise block or reaction rod. Use a good wrench and firmly tug. I did not require heat.
