So my buddy gave me 200 rounds of his .40 reloads because he doesn’t shoot that caliber anymore. I bought a cheap Norinco to burn through the rounds. I was actually worried about squibs since i didn’t reload it. I know I shouldn’t be shooting other people’s reloads so let’s get that out of the way.

About 100 rounds in I got a squib. First one in my life. Now there is a bullet stuck in my barrel.
It’s very stubborn, had it in my vice with different tools and hammer to tap it out and it doesn’t budge. I’m scared it will mushroom and get even worse. Any advice? I’d rather not pay a gunsmith... thanks

I have never heard of a squib that couldnt be hammered out.

get a larger circumference rod and keep hammering it back toward the chamber. Using a drill can damage the barrel.

That's what I did when I had a squib in one of my pistol. I used a brass rod, wrapped some tape around it to keep it centered in the barrel, put the chamber end of the barrel on a block of wood and hammered it out. Took a few good solid wacks for it to pop out. No damage to my barrel.
 
Oh ok I’m glad I asked. I’m probably not hitting hard enough. Used just a little hobby hammer but I’ll use some real tools and give it a good whack
 
Op, assemble your pistol. Make sure your chamber is clean. Pull apart one of the rounds and remove some powder, discard bullet. Slowly chamber empty case with remaining powder charge and close the action. Point it down range and fire. Stuck slug will fly out the business end.
It will not damage anything in barrel. recheck after and shoot known good ammo.

Yes. I have done this a number of times. The trick is to put some bumwad in the case to keep the powder froam falling out.

There are a lot of people out there without a sense of humour. The funniest part is he called me a "newbie"... yet he's the one trusting someone else's reloads and ends up with a squib. lol

A squib can't deform the barrel.

Attacking it with the wrong tools and methods certainly could.
A brass or steel rod just a little longer than the barrel wrapped with tape at the ends to center (and protect the bore if it's steel) than drive it out. Careful not to contact the barrel ends by missing or when it pops out.

Hit as hard as needed and it will go. Only reason it wouldn't is there are several in there.
Drilling a hole in the middle will make it easier but you shouldn't have to go more than half the bullet diameter.
