Although I have heard of them, I actually had one in my hands at the Calgary show.

i have one it may be the best shooter in 4440 that i have got it 5 yrs back from a gun store they had a good price on it ...i asked why ..its not a 92 so its cheap the young man who knew just about it all answered ...i just paid for it and smiled i have had both win and eltigre no one sees any difference untill they read the stamp love it

Yes. Well aware of that tidbit. El Tigres are restamped 44-40.

There was a story of a South American country who's president liked his 44-40 but civilians there couldn't own any military calibers but he allowed them to own a 44-40 if they wanted to.Google didn't refresh my memory.
