well I'm being tormented by 3 or 5 different makes and models of shot guns
I've read all the reviews cant make up my mind
1st I'm thinking of a browning silver
2nd I'm thinking of a Winchester sx4
3rd berretta a400
4th I'm thinking of a Benelli ethos
5th I'm thinking of a work horse 935 Mossberg
I plan on strictly using it for waterfowl
am sort of thinking of a browning a5 sweet 16 , as well but this one more so for pheasant and ducks
which would you pick ??
and why

SX4 is a great gun. Very light and smooth shooting. I killed many ducks and some geese with it. I have it in 3", you may want to get it in 3.5" but I decided I'd rather have smoother recoil for follow up shots rather than pounding out a heavier load even though I do shoot geese. The only issue is that in some runs the charging handle can fly out and go missing. After taking it into the local warranty depot they replaced it and milled it a bit and I have no further issues. I would hope they have fixed this in later runs.

From what I read there is very little difference between the previous SX3 and the SX4 except the SX4 has oversized buttons and slightly bigger trigger guard for gloves. I still see them priced very closely.

I have the Beretta A400. Love the gun and wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. The a400 extreme plus looks even better. I'm just too attached to my original to upgrade!

I had a 935 and for a pure waterfowl gun it was very good. It had light recoil, a smooth swing and patterned several shells well.

Have you shouldered them to see how they fit? Some come with shims to adjust the fit, but some don't. The SX-4 has cheaper stocks than the SX-3, and no adjustment shims. I purchased a back up SX-3 ,while there were still some available, at clear out prices, and some dealers still have some in stock. I liked the A400, but even using the shims to adjust the stock, it just didn't fit me as well as the SX-3. The Silver and Maxus are also very reliable guns. I have one 3-1/2" gun and one with a 3" chamber, and 3" is all that I ever shoot for waterfowl.

Well since most of us noticed that you like your Browning Gold 10’s, I would highly recommend a Browning Silver. It would fit and feel very much like your Gold 10’s, while being about 2lbs lighter. My Silver eats anything its fed and its very tame even with the heaviest of loads. I also have a Mossberg 935 that I’ve been exclusively using for waterfowl and turkeys, and its exactly how you described...a work horse. The adjustment shims that come with the Mossberg go a long way in adjusting the fit, and with the drop shim installed, it come close to the dimensions common with Browning guns. While I absolutely love shooting the Silver, I just cant bring myself to leave the Mossberg at home. Its a great waterfowl gun that you wont mind getting scratched up. My 935 cycles 2 3/4” loads without issues, but some say their 935’s have some issues with target loads

I have a Winchester Super-X Model 3.Very happy with it.As it is no longer in production,I would go with the Winchester Super-X Model 4,which I understand is pretty much the same as the SX3,with a few minor changes.

There are still some dealers with the SX-3 in stock, at great discounts.

The more i shoot my a400 xplor the more i love it and it will see use in the blinds however i just picked up a nice beretta a303 for duck hunting from my kayak. Ive shot all you mention and the a400 fits me best.

Winchester SX-3 for the win (Not SX-4 - see randywakeman.com reviews on both). A400 or Silver might be OK if they feel good to you. They didn't to me.

may want to add a remmy versamax to your list. very soft shooting, ive had maybe 2 feeding failures both seemed more like light load issues than a gun fault (light 2 3/4 target loads)

why no love for the Fabarm XLR, i'm closing in on close to 18000 rounds and she is still like new.
SX3 over the Sx4 though for sure, had a SX3, shot the SX4, not even in the same league. It's actually hard to believe they are even from the same company.
