M91/30 bayonets will work on both rifles. A m91 bayonet will only work on m91s (due to being unable to fit over the sight hood).

Original Imperial 1891 bayonets were not retained by the push-button like the 91/30 bayonets are. So yes, 1891 model took different bayonets than the 91/30.
For what it's worth, some Finnish-assembled M91s were paired with slightly modified 91/30 bayonets.

They purposely designed the M91/30 bayonet to work on both (so any M91s in service wouldn’t have to have a speciality bayonet made for it after the M91/30 adoption). Early M91/30 rifles also didn’t have front sight hoods (other speciality bayonets were developed for those as well).
For historical accuracy a M91 bayonet would be most correct but ultimately there isn’t that much of a difference between the two designs, and certainly not very noticeable unless you know what to look for (say as a display piece).

The display at my local military history museum has a 91/30 bayonet (unaltered) next to an 1891 rifle.

A locking ring vs no locking ring with a push tab. By not very noticeable I mean it isn't like its a completely different length and style bayonet, there's just a bit of a difference where it locks. Otherwise same grooves, same length, and same style.
