new waterfowl shot gun I'm being tormented by 3 or 5 different models

I don't view the Ethos as a waterfowl shotgun. It was designed to be a light-weight upland gun. My waterfowl guns are tools, and used as such. I personally prefer synthetic stocks for waterfowl guns, so I don't have to worry about damaging nice wood. Take a look at the M2 if you want a 3", or look for a used SBE2 for 3 1/2"

I have handled the Winchester SX4 and it seems a nice feeling well made gun, very much like the SX3 with a few changes for the better.Such as a larger trigger guard and safety.I know a few people who use the Winchester SX4 and are very pleased with how the gun points and works.

With all do respect to Randy Wakeman,it is still just his opinon. Some of the things he posts I agree with ,while other things he posts I disagree with.:)

I share the opinion of Wakeman, when it comes to the SX-4. I went in to buy one at a super price, and ended up with an SX-3, because I wasn't as impressed with the SX-4. The stocks felt cheap, and the fore end flexed a lot. It seemed like a cheapened version of the SX-3,rather than an improved version. However, it is mechanically the same, so I expect it to be as reliable as the SX-3.

I have been told
dunno how true it is
the browning silver and the Winchester sx3 and sx4
were all built off the browning gold format
some of the older browning silvers even came out with browning gold stamped on their barrels
anyone know anything about that ??
I know Spank had a browning silver with gold stamped on the barrel at one time

This is correct. My Silver was purchased in 2006 and it has Browning Gold stamped on the barrel. The gas system in them are identical

well that just talked me right into a brand new browning silver
thank you
I had a browning gold hunter model in 12 gauge
my grandson really liked it
so I told him if he showed me a grade 12 diploma
I would give it to him
that was enough incentive for him to stay in school and get his grade 12 diploma
jeesh the things ya do for yer loved ones sometimes

If you get a Silver, it will almost feel like a mini version your your Gold 10. There was a real nice camo Silver that was just listed on the EE. If you havent seen the new pricing on Brownings lately, you may get sticker shock. Prices have gone up a lot in recent years. I wouldnt hestitate to look in the used market in order to save a lot in the process
