Well, when you've owned both you see there really is a difference in the product quality.

As an example we can choose between an ATRS MS receiver set for $1000 then have to spend another $1000-$1500 finishing it or we can buy a WK180c. I would spend the extra to get the quality product.
Both ways you end up with a rifle that functions, but that doesn't make them equal.

It's about using quality materials, proprietary design to get around current Canadian laws, skilled machinist wages, shop overhead, coatings, etc.
You get what you pay for.

I know right ? Its weird that manifactures need to make profit to pay employees and overhead! I quote at 125$/H and once everything is paid I have 35$/h left. So 1k for a receiver set is a bargin when supporting a Canadian business
