The square ended stock bolt.

This is what can happen if the rifle has the squire end stock and one doesn't remove the forend...

Well, the seller replied and he removed the butt without taking the forend off. I now fear the worst, however since I’m returning to school for 3 more weeks I won’t know the damage until then.

So, I bought a 1912 SMLE off of E&E recently. The seller disassembled it without my knowledge or consent. Now, I either have to find someone local to Edmonton to put it back together or do it my self. Any suggestions

Shoot me a PM if you still need assistance.

I'll have to dig out the big screwdriver.

It'll take about five to fifteen minutes to disassemble the rifle enough to check for damage. Actually, scratch that, it'll take you under a minute. Flip the rifle over, and remove the trigger guard (two screws), then see if you notice any cracks. You may be able to see if there is damage simply by inverting the rifle and squeezing the forend at the butt end.

Thanks for the insight. I will keep you all updated and contact you for assistance.
Now to write a paper on the Canadian Armies involvement in Russia from 1918-20 and why Pres. Wilson insisted on it and another paper on American Foreign policy and it’s positive effects on the Poppy Eradication Program in Afghanistan
