43AGV?

The bayonet and scabbard match one another, even though the scabbard says Rich A. Herder 1939, and the bayonet says 43agv. The blade itself looks like it's been reblued, since it doesn't have any scratches on it, and it was covered in cosmoline.

Just looking at the bayonet again, the blade and the handle have different numbers. Does this mean it's been parted together?

So maybe the scabbard and handle match, but the blade does not? That makes the most sense to me. Still, I am really happy to finally have a bayonet. Makes the rifle just that much more presentable.

my new toy

Just received this no1 mk3 today, it's a 1915 with the cut off and volley sights, it also came with a 1915 dated leather sling. The only down side is the bolt doesn't match but everything else does. The bore is in excellent condition so i think i'll be hitting the range tomorrow if time permits. Not bad for $250.

In all probability it was refurbished post-war in Yugoslavia and the scabbard was mated to the bayo. Many of Jean's K98k bayos are refurbs as I understand it. They are priced accordingly. Don't lose any sleep over it.

The Norwegian is a ce43. The Yugo is an M48 with all milled parts, all matching. Not a refurb either.

And yes, I have A LOT of flags. I buy flags for every gun I'm doing MKL entries for nowadays as it gives a cleaner look to the MSC website.

Where do you usually buy the flags from? I have a Canadian flag that I got a few years ago for something but it's thin and cheap as can be... :(

Alittle OT, but I have a British Naval flag that is 8ft x 13ft roughly. Cotton, and each color is sewn material, not a one piece dyed flag. I think it's dated 1950. Guess Britannia was still somewhat ruling some of the waves in those days.

Gees a was already to post how bad I'd been only to find this was in Milsurp... Oh well I haven't bought any milsurps... just a bunch of other stuff.. the good news is my wife will probably have an estate sale once she sees all the stuff I just bought and kills me!

Ok, here is a new purchase (won on Valley Guns last month but arrived this month). Matching BRNO Czech K98k.

In this second pic, the rifle is NOT an August purchase, but most of the depicted accessories are :)
