Henry new single shots look interesting

That's the only thing I would avoid with the Henry Single, that action opening lever is sitting right there to embed itself in the web of your hand with a high recoil round. I had a buddy that accidently pulled both barrels in a double shotgun with the same type of lever on it. That lever embedded itself past the large end into his hand...he was a hurtin dude for a long while.

I shoot turkey loads buckshot and slugs in sxs guns that have a top lever and never had an issue. Even a english gripped 6lb 3oz 12ga never came close to touching me with the top lever. That gun with mag turkey loads kicks harder than a 4570.
But of course there are those who get burnt by a revolver and chunked by semi auto pistols

So Tenda is sold out, I'm assuming someone here bought one. Any range reviews yet? Really would like one of these, but waiting to hear some first hand accounts.

I should mention that there was reports of the butt stock breaking on the rifles and shotguns down south. I checked out my shotgun when I got it. The buttstock was loose on it. So I tightened it up and I have about 100 rounds of buckshot, slugs and heavy goose loads through it with no issues.

Where are you going to get it though? Cant seem to find anyone in Canada with any at the moment?

Got my 12G Henry from Northpro here in Saskatoon, took a few weeks, but they managed to get it in. They also had to call North Sylva directly to order it as it didn't show up on their website. I am sure they could order a rifle if I wanted.

45-70 no matter how you load it, does not kick like both barrels from a side by side. I've fired my side by side this way many times. Btw, my hand is intact. Be prepared for it, and all should be well. Firing it off the shoulder is likely to result in it sliding in your grip.

I like the idea of these rifles, a nice simple quality single shot. The added weight should take a tiny bit of the pounding out of heavier 45-70 loads.

Saw a new one in .223 (the one I'm sort of looking for) on a table at the gun show here in Halifax this afternoon. The price tag was $650 which struck me as a touch higher than I'm willing to drop on one at this time.

Good to see they're starting to make it to the Maritimes though.

Should have asked seller if he'd recently struck his head if it was one of the blued ones.

527 + tax from Dante's. Frees shipping on order over 500. Had a Baikal single 7.62 x 54, also the .223. I'm an open sight kinda guy, and the baikal sights sucked. Watching some youtube videos, and the guys seem to be doing pretty well with the sights on the Henry. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll be able to report back.

I ordered one a few days ago from North Pro sports. A 45-70. Last one they had. Was on sale for $519 so a score as far as price goes. Already had scope bases in hand awaiting one to come available. Have a 2-7X32 scope ready to install as well.

They are $360 in the US so it would be nice to see them here at $499.

When you guys get yours can you tell me if the drop on the stock is set for use with irons or with a scope?

I'd like to get one in .223 and chop the stock for my daughter.
