I received my TUF22 from Leigh at Dlask last week. I had the following rig made.

• Sporter chambered 12.5” barrel
• CNC bolt
• Ruger BX trigger pack
• Dlask adjustable V block
• Dlask bolt buffer
• Black charging handle.

To test it I dremeled my old 10/22 synthetic stock to sort of fit it. The barrel is not free floating.

I mounted an old Bushnell 3x9 rimfire scope in very high Leupold see through rings (the only 1 inchers I had) so I have only a chin weld, not a cheek weld. Shot off a front rest only. The rifle could do a lot better than what I shot today and there are a couple of fliers and they were all me.

I will get a better scope (not sure what) plus low rings and a proper stock, maybe a Magpul X22.

I tested nine types of ammo. The Quiets required hand cycling but the rest cycled well. I started to get sluggish extraction 3/4 of the way through the test but a squirt of WD40 got it running smoothly.

I forgot my large paper and targets at home so I made a backing from paper towels with quarter sized red dots I had in my range box.

The trigger is much better than my well broken in 10/22.

Best ammo was CCI Mini Mag (of course).

Other good performers were Fed Prem Gold Medal, Sellier & Bellot, American Eagle 38g HP, Fed Auto Match and maybe Win 333.

I shot it at 25 yards and then at 50 yards. The bigger groups marked Ruger at 25 yards are from sighting in my 10/22 with a TRS-25 red dot and CCI MM.

The Quiets required shooting with the lower post in my reticle and that brought its POI to the POA at 25 yards. Doing the same resulting in the POI being 3" below the POA, Not a choice for long range...…….

Now I'm waiting for my 25 round mag.

Does anyone have scope suggestions for this rig.

I am going to put it in a Magpul X22 stock and would.like to mount an illuminated 1x4 or 1x6 scope in low rings onto it. Price to $500.

I want a 1x so that it can also be used as a sort of red dot for CQB type shooting as well as it's intended plinking and small.game hunting and pest control purposes.

Not sure about a 1-6. I’m not sure a cheap 1-6 would focus very well at close ranges and might have bad parallax. I think most of them are set up for the 100yd parallax.

I went with a Leupold 2-7 rimfire. They are nice scopes very clear and focus well. The 2x works at very close ranges. I don’t think illuminated is an option though.

My TUF22 is a paper-chaser with a Leupold Mark AR 4-12X40mm AO mounted. The type of scope you describe is not the type of scope that I would use on the rifle... the red dot concept versus the need for eyeball precision for hunting small game are somewhat at odds... I would be inclined to go with an AO/EFR scope... the low profile VX-2 3-9X33 EFR would be a good option, should you decide to go the precision route over the fast fire route... if you narrow down your priority, the choice should become clear.

I have a cz 455 with a 4 - 14 scope for shooting tight groups, this will be for grouse at up to 20 yards, plinking and carrying in the truck, dirt bike and whatever.

So I want a smaller scope as opposed to a larger scope, something mounted low so I can slide the little rig into my dirt bike scabbard.

How about a tiny holo (reflex) sight like the Vortex Venom or Burris Fastfire? Not magnified at all but out to 25 yards plenty good for head shooting grouse. I have them on my MKIII pistols... very compact unit.

I'm thinking maybe one of these Burris MTACs.

Burris RT-6 1-6x24 - 1/2 MoA - Ballistic AR - 200427

Speed reigns supreme in three-gun competition. So if you want to compete, you better be fast on the target and fast to shoot. Race inspired and tactical strong, the new RT-6 is built for speed, accuracy and easy handling. Guaranteed to shave seconds off the clock.

Like your biodegradable targets.
Were your MiniMags RN or HP?
Did the Quiet loads function? Sure glad they came through.
Any function issues?
Speed Steel and Mission this Saturday?

I think they are HP, I'm in the South Pacific so I can't check.

The Quiets have to be cycled manually but they all cleared the 12.5" barrel.

No other function issues with any of the ammo until the action got sticky after maybe 200 rounds.

I had a laser thermometer with me but the barrel barely heats up shooting 5 round strings.

One of my 10/22's would do 2" at 100 yards with round nose but 6"+ with HP.
Deserved a second try and duplicated the poor results. Back to the RN and 2".
Tried some Federal Match 922A and closed to an inch but never over 2" . . . until game day and the 3" scoring rings could not be held.

SSDD . . . Same Shooter Different Day!

Takes no time to throw a T36 on it to test its true accuracy. Give yourself the best opportunity to success and find what it really likes.
The picture of the ammo tested might only show function but the accuracy with a different lot will vary and prove almost nothing.

I think you posted on the wrong thread.

Keep that 10/22! I struggle to do that with my CZ 455 with a 4-14x scope!
