What's the hottest NR in Canada

i just hate the looks of them.
and this from a guy that LIKES the looks of the Ruger Mini14!!!!

im just freaked out that you can see right through where the charging handle runs.
and boxy, they are the Glock of the NR223 world.

Yup, here here, mind you I doubt it will have the reliability of a glock, it's just hyped up because of the price point, not because it's any good.

For me it's back to old SKS lol
No seriously, #### all that overpriced beta tester, pre sale dice toss bull#### :D
If I wasnt utterly jaded by numerous bad experiences, I would say the WK180c if you can get one that was made on a Wednesday....

We are lucky to have many options available these days, but as has been mentioned the two that standout in my opinion are the ATRS Modern Sporter for a small frame (.223) and Stag 10 for large frame (.308).

For the "Latest Hottest" black rifle in a decent price point, I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the newest Canadian friendly non-res version of the Scorpion Evo-3. I think they were going for around $1200 and selling out constantly.
Crap trigger but fun rifle. Looks cool too.

We are living in a golden age of NR black rifles. So many offerings to choose from and reasonable prices. Gone are the days of the tacticool sks and the XCR being the only options.
Stag 10 seems to be the most popular in 308 and the WK108 in 223.

I second the SKS. Genuine battle tested assault rifle.

In 5.56/223, what about the humble HK SL8? Still worth it? It is cheaper than most of the AR wannabes mentioned above.

I shot a buddies SL8 for a day on the range a ways back.
I had no problems with it aside from price back then.
I see them going new for 2k these days. You could probably snake one off the EE for around 1600 would be a great NR black rifle.

The thumb hole stock is a bit goofy/bad.
There was a guy who actually cut it and epoxied it into a proper traditional grip and stock and it looked phenomenal.

Only cons were it was on the heavy for a semi auto 223
Proprietary mags
Very short iron sight radius on the rail carry handle (I'm almost solely an iron sights shooter)
