I have a kimber pro carry II 1911 and I’m wanting to get a holster so I can take my black badge, there’s a lot of options and I’m feeling a little overwhelmed.

What are fellow 1911 cgn’ers using/recommending? Any suppliers in Saskatchewan?

Stay away from locking holsters. Button release is a no no at comps. Bladetech is one of them (I think).

I have the same gun as you and use a G-Code holster, works great for me.

Ok good to know, did not realize locking holsters aren’t allowed for competition.

It's not necessarily that they aren't allowed, in many cases they are allowed, it's that - depending upon the activity - they are not necessarily desireable.

For your stated purpose, you probably can't do any better than a Blade-Tech Classic OWB.

They're popular for a reason.

" Ok good to know, did not realize locking holsters aren’t allowed for competition. "

Fake news.

The only locking holsters that are banned are the ones that use your trigger-finger to activate.

I use a cheap Blackhawk non locking holster with a hanger I made from some scrap aluminum. Total cost was something like $20 and it's not too bad. If IPSC is something you're going to stick with, I'd probably get a DAA race holster though, they're expensive but they're also great stuff. There's a reason why almost everyone uses them. Same for their mag pouches, but even more so.

I’ve been using ghost holsters from Double Tap Sports for 4 years now shooting classic in IPSC. Depending where you are I could show you a wide array of holsters from several manufacturers.
