C7A2 non restricted built!

That damn sling plate is by far the hardest part to source. I’ve only ever seen one in the wild. Never would have expected a sling plate of all things....

I know

I got a bunch of brand new ones a few years ago but that was a one off. Never saw any of them after that

Nicely done. I think it would look closer to a C7 if you used a Modern Sporter receiver set however. The magwell looks more like the C7 and the upper with F/A would just make it that much closer.

I know i want to do it with a atrs but they are rare and people sell them double the price of a mew one on the EE section unfortunately

So rather than getting "scalped" on the EE with profiteers gouging for things that are easy to order, why not simply place an order and wait but save a ton of $$?
Last round to order one (for october) forward assist and lower receiver was Monday midnight unfortunately, a bit too late.
I will wait to put my hand on a used one at a decent price!

Oh man. Now I want to get one of those receiver sets and build an M16 clone. The M16 is my all time favorite rifle along with the C7 of course. But I don't have the patience to gather the correct components for a C7 so I would just build an M16 clone. Then I could take it out in the woods!

Gorgeous build! Worth bookmarking for inspiration when I start a "made-in-USA" version so the girlfriend can have her own iron for Service Rifle matches when visiting rather than having to pass my M16A4-clone back and forth.

Right now, since slingplates can't be exported to the US even when they CAN be had up there, I'm looking at a functionally similar but not identical plate from Odin Works, unless either somebody down here clones C7 or L119 endplates, or True North Arms clones 'em like the "Hook" CH latch and finds a way to legally export 'em.

You are also missing the god awful ambidextrous charging handle. http://www.nordicmarksman.com/C7A2-C8A3-CF-Ambi-Charging-Handle.html

Can't believe $120 for a cocking handle...
I just bought one along with the sling thing lol

A quick research between the MDI and the ATR tells me the ATR is much better. Only thing I don’t like is the trigger guard. I wonder how that will look with a classic fixed stock M16 style build. I will give it a try and find out.
