Glock help please

Just built a Poly 80 (finished) and purchased a complete Suarez slide. It functioned properly except that when the slide locks to the rear, you cannot release it via the slide stop. You MUST rack the slide. I put my 25 yr old G22 slide on the frame and the slide stop functions properly, leading me to believe that the stronger recoil spring in the Suarez is too much for the current set up to handle. Can anyone offer any insight?

What does the notch in the slide look like? It should be the only thing that the slide release is contacting on the slide.

Impossible to give advice without pics of the notch. My guess is that there is a slight angle to the cut of the notch

Gabe Suarez was always a fan of gross motor skills and the Tap/Rack doctrine. Maybe he designed his slide stop that way so tap/rack was the only option?
