Hi all,

i'm in the market for a revolver and would prefer a flat cylinder design and shortest barrel possible. Unfortunately my search on canadian sites hasn't yielded a lot of options that combine these two requirements.

Wondering if anyone can point me to a make/model that I might have missed.

Thanks, cheers

Youza.

I'm not sure I know what you mean by 'flat cylinder'.
If you mean an unfluted cylinder, then Ruger make various models of single-action revolvers in calibres ranging from .22 rim-fire up to and including .480 Ruger with unfluted cylinders.
They also make some double-action revolvers with unfluted cylinders.
I'm not sure of any other makes, although it's most likely there are some.
Shortest barrel possible depends on if your RPAL is 12(6) of not. If not 12(6) then it has to be over 106mm. in length.

Sorry, could've been more precise. Unfluted cylinder is what I meant.
I'm very familiar with the barrel laws, I was just saying shortest possible meaning as close as possible to 106mm, no 12(6). I can deal with 5" but would prefer 4.2", for example. I've seen various models at 6.5" and find those too long.

Thanks

Youza.

S&W 686 International has the unfluted cylinder. I've only seen it with a 6" barrel, not sure if other lengths are available or not. A friend of mine has one and it is a beautiful revolver.

Ruger has a few

8 shot 357 redhawk with a 4.2" (also a 5.5)

44 special GP100 with a 5" barrel

Or if you don't mind single action, there is the Super Blackhawk with a 4.62"

Forgot about the Alfa 9mm with a 4.5"

and also the chiappa 357 in 5" if you want something really different
