Alex tells me that Eric G. takes out the retainer, cuts it shorter and then drills a new hole in it - allowing the gun to sit lower. Makes sense. I haven't tried it yet though.

Use the original retainer. (1911) Take off the muzzle platform and rotate the numb to the opposite side (because it's a full profile gun) then put the gun in the holster and locate the muzzle platform by sliding it up.
The gun should not have any up/down motion, and the retainer should still be flush so the lock can slide over it.
Adjust the white screw to fill the gap between the gun and holster so the gun has no forward / back motion.
It's OK for some of the trigger guard area to not be covered, so long as the area that is the trigger and forward is covered.

White screw comes out quite a bit I assume. I am used to Speedsec I guess. Never had this elaborate type of holster.Real simple for those who are used to it.
So without the cut to the retainer, there-by lowering it, won't the retainer nub grab the trigger guard behind the trigger for Double action?
There is no double action in a Limited Custom. SA only.
Without the retainer lowered correctly, the gun sits too high in the holster relative to the retainer nub, placing the trigger surface right next to or even resting against it. When the gun is drawn, the trigger comes into contact with the nub, which tries to lever the trigger backwards. If the safety is on as it should be you can get away with it without knowing the rig is unsafe. [But, if you ever accidentally knock your safety off before you clear the holster, you will fire the gun in the holster. Not good].
Remember; you can't just lower it. It requires a modification to the holster body to do this. Part of it has to be cut away.
After this is done the white screw is adjusted out just far enough to snug the gun up between the muzzle plug and the trigger lock so that it doesn't wobble.
Rob..it this why you are using the "Ghost Holster"
With all due respect to you, Rob - I gotta disagree - I'll go set up a CR for a Lim Custom here without resorting to a dremel and confirm in the next day. There is no double action in a Limited Custom. SA only.

Had it to the range today. Worked fine, holster gets some getting used to though, but yes it is secure.
This is for a Stock2 .BTW, Double action.
this thread is useless without pics Maurice. mine should be in my hands next week (I couldn't convince Sean to just mail it today and wait for the transfer to go through later, bastard!).
I tried using the inserts with my Guga pouches for my Beretta mags, but even backed off all the way they would then be too tight. with no inserts and tightened right up some worked, some didn't. So I took the pouches to work, ripped them apart and put them on the belt sander. now they work great. I am hoping there is a Guga holster for the Tanfoglio, if not I'll go Ghost.
I also wish the Tan website was up to date, it's pretty useless. I'd like to see pics of what parts are available, options etc, and still stay PD legal with the gun.
So it's the Stock II, which is the same frame as the LC. I can see that the holster is holding the gun fine, but the retainer nub still leaves a space between it and the front of the trigger guard. The gun will lock with this set-up, but you can lift the muzzle clear of the plug...and still have it locked at the trigger guard... so that the muzzle will pivot around on the trigger guard. It's not going to drop the gun if it's still locked; it will just leave it flopping around in the rig. If it's not locked though.....yikes! Anyway, this is why I do the mod I was referring to. When I get home from work tonight I'll see if I can figure out how to post a picture to show what I mean. I don't think my descriptions are connecting too well.here are a couple of teasers.
