Polymer cleaning Question

My wife just bought a Sig Mosquito, and had a question I have never come up against. Can you use BraKleen on a polymer framed pistol?
I know some people say you shouldn't use it on guns at all, but have had years of good results on my steel and aluminium framed autos.
Will it hurt the polymer on the Sig?

I tried some on my Glock once and it started to leave a white residue on the polymer. I'm not sure if it was actually reacting with the plastic or not, but I immediately flushed it off with water and never tried again. Shouldn't be any problems on the metal bits.

Good question to ask SIG, not a bunch of carbon steel and walnut guys. We'll probably tell you to dip your combat tupperware in sulphuric acid, then roll it in bread crumbs and eleven herbs and spices.

If in doubt, experiment on some other plastic thing first.

I use non-chlorinated brake cleaner on all my polymer guns, none have melted, yet. I've heard the chlorinated stuff might damage polymer, but the non-chlorinated doesn't.

I've been cleaning my USP frame with regular solvents for two years without any problems.
