Good quality ramrod replacement.

Measure the ramrod you have the go to a hobby store and buy the right size of brass rod. Have it drilled and tapped to hold a cleaning jag and the opposite end dished to seat a round ball without deforming it. Voilà you have a combination range and ramrod.

Coupla ideas ( assuming yer kinda handy ... in a DIY kinda way).

Buy a dowel maker from Lee Valley in one of three sizes ... and make as many as you want ... outta whatever wood you want.

Go to CT and buy one of those yellow poles for chimney sweeping. Cut off the coupling fixtures and replace with ramrod hardware... and - voila - you now have a ramrod that’s stronger than you are.
 
i made mine from oak. before you flame me, i used a bit of old mast making knowledge.

i cut my selected straightest run grain into quarter strips, each marked so i know where they came from in the blank.
i then swapped them end to end and side to side, so that any grain runout was supported by at least two other strips, and glued them up with Titebond III, which is waterproof and stays flexible.
i shaped it roundish, keeping the glued joint centred. sanded, stained and capped it with a turned down 30-30 case for a ramrod tip.
its 41 inches long and i can bend it so the ends are almost 90` to each other.
it works very well, and even warped somewhat so that it locks itself in the pipes and stays put.

^^ agreed I prefer ramrods with some warpage for that reason. By the same token, that's why I've found brass ramrods don't work so well, without some form of locking mechanism. Constantly sliding out, under recoil and when yer walkin'. Also blasted heavy!! Great for range rods, not so much for a direct replacement hangin' under the barrel. One day I'll try brass tubing... been meaning to for years.
