Was thinking about getting a Citadel replacement barrel from Tradex mine but noticed they have a 9.3x62 by Lothar Walther. Never hear of that caliber in a garand before. Sounds fun. Not sure if the expense is worth it other the the oddity I guess:) Any of you guys have one? Thoughts.

Great cartridge, don't know if I'd shoot full power loads through an M1... it's got a little recoil at 35ft/lbs, that steel butt would be rough.
Reduced loads would be ideal in it.

I owned a tanker copy once. If there is little clearance between the loaded ammo and the bullet, it only takes some recoil forces to bump the bullet guide and clip latch and spring from the inside hence causing early ejection of the en bloc clip. This would be further exhasturbated by wider 9.3mm bullets.

Crazy !

Kinda defeats the purpose of the x62 though doesn't it ? It would have to be very mild loading

Also - counter point , if you can't put down the bear in 8 shots from a 30-06 ..............

25-06 would be cooler no ? Or 6.5-06 ????

Probably a great idea. The 25-06 would have some flat shooting extra reach. Getting back to the 9.3 Garand, there is a talented gentleman in the US building a tanker copy in 308, 30-06 and 35 Whelen that he calls the Mini-G. The 35 he recommends only loading 5 rounds maximum capacity. I believe this is because of the reason I stated earlier.
Cheers
