What Magazines Are You Using in Your Stag 10

Lancers all the way for me. Solves the OP’s problem in regards to the dislike of polymer mags. Poly body, steel feed lips.

I noticed at work they have gone to those for the C8 qualifications. Previous it was just the Colt Canada GI mags. Gave them a quick look over. Looked good and worked great with tons of rounds being fired. No non purposely induced failures.

My goto for AR15 mags are the D&H mags. I find they work great and were inexpensive when I bought them (not so much now). Unfortunately I haven't seen them on sale for the AR10/AR308. I have a few gen 3 pmags but never been a huge fan of them. Two KAC SR25 mags but they are ridiculously expensive (especially for what they are). Which leaves some ACS 10 round pistol mags that seem decent. A few DPMS mags that are complete crap. When one doesn't even fit in the rifle it came with, you know it's crap.

Long story short. I'm looking for a decent SR25/AR10A mag. The Lancer mags look really good. A bit concerned about the cost though.... Might be sticking with pmags a while longer.

I’d like to try the KAC mags just for the sake of it, but I haven’t had any luck sourcing them.
Where’d you get yours?

They came with a few rifles I bought. Most were selling them off as they could buy 5 pmags for 1 KAC sR25 mag.

They are decent but nothing special and not worth $150 each. If they didn’t come with the rifles I wouldn’t buy them.

After using those Lancer mags with a C8, I’m considering going that route for 308.

Ouch, that’s a fair point for an unfair price point.
Appreciate the insight.

That's still crazy expensive for a magazines. There is no reason for that kind of pricing. I think I will try the magpuls

Shipping and taxes added to a fair bit of that just under $200 price tag tho.

Lancer L7s are really nice mags...mine are "smoke" transparent polymer, have the full 20 round body and the whole top of the magazine is metal reinforced which adds to the long term life of the magazine.

Referencing my original post. Has anyone here ordered from Zahal, and had less than stellar service from their customer service. In my post I wrote about the issue I was having with ordering the E-Lander magazines from Zahal. After not seeing a refund on my credit card for a few days, I emailed them. Their customer service(Kerstin) wrote back informing me that she needed a couple of days to see if she could have the magazines shipped direct from the manufacturer. Fast forward 5 days, I have not heard a peep from them. So I wrote, asking what was happening with the order. Again not a peep. I tried calling, and their number, as listed, does not work. After reading reviews from customers complaining of the exact same problem, experiencing the exact same results, I am starting to believe that I have been scammed out of several hundred dollars. Several of the customers complained that they never saw a cent refunded back to them, and absolute disinterest from Zahal.

If you intend to plink away from time to time, then yeah Magpul are fine magazines in their 308 models.
That being said, ive read more than a few complaints about Magpul’a feedlips cracking with extended use, and I intend to shoot the piss out of mine. To me, the price is certainly worth it if their are legitimate benefits to it.

The other issue is also extreme cold. Seen lots of guys going on about the pmag and how great it is. That this should be standard etc. always from the guys who never worked in -30 to sub -50 winters. They crack in extreme cold.

On another side note, one thing I liked about the old AR10 consumer days was the fact it was basically dpms or Armalite. The post 2006 Armalite mags for the AR10B ie m14 based are excellent.

Pmags with heavy use (especially with heavier hitting guns) and not life long items...and with the cost of them in the USA (not our higher cost ones here at 50% more $$$) many people know and realize this.

XCR mags in both my 6.5 and 308 just had to bow out the top of the mag catch a tad with some heat and a flat blade screwdriver, they work perfectly now and hold open on last round every time and there short enough to not interfere with the bag when benching them
