Barrel sticking out of a compact Jericho 941

It kinda makes sense for Americans to load the chamber and use the decocker to put the gun into the double-action mode.

I use a Jericho in competition and the decocker is a good thing the way I see it. I have seen guys accidentally discharge while decocking a DA with a trigger pull, which of course is an instant DQ. It is true that the safety bites a bit while racking the slide, but I have yet to actually accidentally activate the safety while racking.

This part was confusing me, so I went to the sources. This wikipedia article (in Hebrew) states that (a) the slide-mounted safety doubles as a decocker and (b) it's sold mostly in the US. This is the model that is called "Baby Eagle".

It kinda makes sense for Americans to load the chamber and use the decocker to put the gun into the double-action mode. But the Israelis are taught in the army to never go around with a bullet in the chamber. You get disciplined for that. Moreover, the Israeli police (as this article claims) specifically disable the double-action in this gun by limiting the trigger's return.

May I ask you why didn't you go with a 9mm?

Jaroslav

Truth be told, I have a Norinco NZ85B in 9 mm. I put the rubber CZ grips on it; it fits me so well, and is so accurate, that I was actually hoping to find an NP40 to match it. Everyone has been sold out of those for some time, and I advertised for one, and only got a couple responses, with fairly high prices. I shopped around for a "CZ" pattern .40 and any of the used CZs I found were still very expensive, or badly beat up. Tenda had the full sized .40 IWI Jericho on for $549.00 with three mags, holster and double mag pouch, shipped. How could I say no!

It shoots low, I need to get a taller back sight, but the feel and the function is amazing! It is stable and the extra weight is an asset with the .40 cal. I still like my NZ85 better although, if a 9mm full-sized steel Jericho were offered at a cheap enough price, I would buy it.

BTW, mine is not a Baby Desert Eagle or an Uzi Eagle; it is an IWI Jericho 941, with the slide de-cocker. You can't believe everything that is written in Wiki.

I got an excellent deal on the IWI Jericho 941 in 40 S&W. The ad mentioned a range kit which consists of a Fobus paddle holster and mag carrier. It's a well-made, solid shooting iron. I put a set of LOK Grips Bogies on it and grabbed a couple of extra magazines. Good to go.

How do you shoot with yours; I am still shooting tight, low groups with mine, but from a bench rest it is right on. The problem is me LOL. Using 200 gr. campro bullets over a middle of the road powder load. I may try some campro 155 gr. next to see if it changes point of impact. In the mean time, I am going to practice more with the ones I have presently loaded.

How do you like the grips? Have they helped your shot placement?

Can anybody explain to me why there is a piece of barrel that sticks out of this compact Jericho 941? There are several websites offering those compact pistols, while there are none that offer a full length frame (at least I couldn't find).

If it's for attaching accessories, then why it's not threaded? Am I supposed to send a brand-new pistol to a gunsmith just to do that? I don't get the logic.

I couldn’t own one. Always reminds me of dog lipstick.
