Lately I've been itch'n to get a nice 10.5" 9mm AR-15. I like the look of the mean little compact SMG with 10-shot uzi mags, they look fast-handling and accurate, I already have a nice .223 M4 but I now want a 10.5'' 9mm. Questar has the RRA LAR-9 9mm Pistols for sale....has anyone snatched one of these babies?

The one I'm interested in is the 10.5'' A2 "pistol" with stock... going for $1,699.00. There's also a nice COLT 10.5 A2 going for $2,500.00:eek:
SICK looking SMG, but with a heavy price tag especially after my recent MARK 23 purchase:rockOn:

Is the COLT the way to go for the extra $$$$ or is the RockRiverArms RRA LAR-9 just as good?

Thanks

I will go for RRA.
But i love more compact and more fire power.
7.5" will good to go. .223 will better that 9 mm.

uzi STYLE mags, I'm not talking about the black synthetic 10-shot LAR mags, they also have another type, its black/grey steel mags...UZI STYLE 9mm mags pinned for 10.

I have not seen the "Steel UZI STYLE" 10 round mags on Questars site. Just because there are 10 round LAR-15 223 and 10 round RRA 9mm mags "Plastic", does not mean you can take any mag that fits in it and move the pin down to 10 rounds. It is my understanding that the mag has to be "SPECIFICALLY built and MARKED for a pistol" If the steel mags are marked as such and approved by CFC for 10 rounds then cool I just learned something but I have heard nothing of the sort...

i've been told repeatedly that .223 in that system is problematic and 9mm is much more reliable. i don't know from experience, just what i've heard from a few smiths and retailers. although i'd be interested if that were untrue.

maybe someone on here has first hand info to share?

No, crap as in I had hit the post button twice and had a duplicate. :)

I have a Colt 9mm AR15, and OKDave has a RRA 9mm. I was very impressed with the RRA gun. It is all parts interchangeable with the Colt and really nice. Of course it is not a Pony Gun, but it is very good.
