I'm so focused on the gun issue that it just dawned on me that after the June announcement (what ever that may be) the easiest way to target gun owners is by limiting the ammunition.
How much ammo are we allowed to store and how long does it last if kept correctly.
I also have 55g .223 is this ok to use in a bolt action .223 for target practice or is it more AR specific?
Thanks
I got this from a gent named rangbob but in Canada it’s 225kg as I know not full on rounds but 225kg of explosives so powder and primers that sort of thing it’s ment more towards reloaders I’m sure but broken down it’s a lot.

As posted before, the limit is based on 225 kg net weight of the powder contained within the cartridges, so with:
1 lb = 7000 grains
1 kg = 2.205 lbs
You get 1kg = 2.205 lb = 15,432 grains
So you can have 3,472,280 grains of powder
That means for various calibres
223 at 25 grains = 139,000 rounds
7.62x39 at 28 grains = 124,000 rounds
308 at 45 grains = 77,000 rounds
and the winner
22LR at about 2 grains = 1.7 million rounds (a bit over $ 100,000 at $30/brick)
If anyone else has some insight that would help me understand it or more better interpret it as even I’m somewhat confused on some areas of it let me know. Stored properly can last years I doubt people buy surplus ammo from the 50s 60s so on for fun and properly they still go bang. I don’t see why you can’t use 223 for target practice they make 223 chambered bolt actions.
