Which AR15 should i buy?

In the market for an AR15 now before any possible bans. Should I go for something cheap like the M&P Sport II $800-900ish? OR get a tried and true Colt LE6920 $1500-1600ish? Or get a BCM M4 Mod 0 $1800-2000ish OR something else? What are you guys opinions?
 
Always buy the best you can afford. While the S&W’s have been a great budget entry level gun, If I had to buy another rifle I’d go with either the Colt or the BCM.

I just bought a LE6920-OEM2 for $850 I went for the tried and true AR. Just need to add butt stock handguard and trigger guard. I was also looking at the new Savage recon but went with the Colt
 
BCM is lighter and weight is a factor for me, doesn't require special tools as does some of the CC guns, Mlok on the MRR aren't compatible with all accessories, BCM better price
 
You can get the S&W M&P Sport II's for $659.
Colt HBAR is a good choice as is the LE 6920. Depends on what you envision yourself doing with it.
Good reviews for the DD, and BCM.
I have the first 3. They shoot well.
 
After much debate and web surfing I picked up a S&W m&p 15 figuring if it was good enough for Jerry Miculek it would be definitely good enough for me and it is.
As a bonus the price was great even after I swapped in the trigger he engineered.
In my case no need to spend more as I'm neither saving the world or entering pro competitions stateside.

Sharing your same concerns about a potential ban/reclassification of AR's, I just went and did the exact same thing as you are contemplating. Placed an order for a Colt LE6920 this evening and bought a 300 round bucket of .223 ammo from Cabelas on sale and a die set to reload the brass once I shoot the ammo.

Valid points. Who/where sells a complete bcm rifle? Doing some google searches nets me mostly uppers /lowers/ parts. I also can't seem to find any rhyme or reason to how rifles are listed or named by visiting their site, so not sure what to type in to search for specifically. Interested in an 11.5ish length.
 
I have the 11.5, a friend has the 12.5. Both are excellent. I went a non sponsor route so PM me and I can explain.
I re checked pricing and it appears Colt 11.6" MRR and BCM 11.5" are the same price in Canada but my vote still goes to BCM.

Red Deer has a couple BCMs but on the high end of the price scale

Colt le6920 is the base ar I measure against, plenty better, plenty worse. But it's what i use as the benchmark. You can get a nice bcm mcmr or a dd as well, the colt canada mrr isn't a bad option either just know it's not as customization friendly as the rest.

Buy once cry once. Get a quality gat, get some training, shoot it a lot, have fun.
 
At this point, if you haven't already purchased your ace in the hole you are well behind the "Observe, Orient, Decide, Act " cycle as compared to your peers. As a result, the best information about the optimal brand to buy is entirely moot if there are none left in Canada for sale. My advice is to buy any reputable AR15 brand that you can still source. Buy a complete rifle/carbine and not just a Lower Receiver in case the Liberals word things to prevent future importation and sales of AR-unique parts.

As of this morning Wolverine Supplies still had some Daniel Defense rifles in stock. If those are too rich then buy something cheaper if you can find it, without stooping to NEA/BCL quality (or utter lack thereof).

Don't dally, as your options are narrowing at a very rapid rate. Even if you don't get the exact configuration that you want, buy something in an AR. If they do prohibit them by OIC then grandfathering will likely occur, allowing you to buy, sell and trade amongst fellow registered AR owners so that you can eventually have and enjoy the exact rifle/carbine of your dreams.
