10 guauge and use of slugs?

I bought a NEF Pardner single shot 10 guage, with a 28" fixed full choke barrel. when I bought it the guy through in some #2 shot shells and some slugs. I was always under the impression that a full choke and slugs isn't a good combo... am I wrong?

I would have thought that 10-gauge and slugs weren't a good combo, unless you're 6'8", 400 lbs, hunt with a custom .600 Overkill pistol, and can call Chuck Norris a pussy to his face with impunity, but I could be mistaken.

Your slugs can be passed safely through a full choke all day long. Don't worry. Just make sure they are rifled so they stay on target.

All of the "standard" (Foster type) rifled slugs in each of their respective gauges, are designed to work through Full chokes.

Most however, find that their guns group better with Cylinder or
Improved Cylinder chokes.

Thanks guys, now I just have to work up the nerve to shoot them! 3" 12 guage slugs kick pretty good out of my 835, not sure how much worse these'll be out of a single shot..... again, thanks...

i shoot slugs out of my 10ga and surprisingly they are accurate good thing theres not much meat around the ribs tho lol

I find that my Rem. 3" 1 3/8 Buckhammer's a real good kicker
I can't imagine a 10g

Well my paperwork finally came in on this bugger, so next week it's off to the range to try out the loads I've got, and yes that includes the slugs.... Well thanks for the advise, or should I say warnings. LOL

Buy yourself a good vest with built in recoil absorber for the range...it will be worth every penny.

No worries about shooting slugs through full choke.
