Options for selling my rifle

Ten years ago I bought a used Tikka T3 heavy barrel in 243win. I’ve decided after shooting hundreds of rounds I want a 223 since I only target shoot and want the cheaper ammo. What’s my best option for selling? I put a good scope and wonder should I keep the scope or sell with the rifle.
 
Are you happy with your scope?
If your scope is a good scope and it served you well target shooting before, I would see no reason to sell it.
If you want different features like, more magnification, range finding, a higher end optic or a firedot. That may be a reason to sell and upgrade.

If you are considering selling, you may want to ask yourself, What is the scopes condition?
If your scope is scratched, dented or showing ring marks, you won't get as much toward the new gear.

I would definitely use the ee to sell items.
You may want to buy a couple of things to get your trader rating started.
Some buyers may ask for cash on delivery, or for you to take pictures of the item with another object to prove you have it.
Be ready for people to PM you with offers. ( Don't post an ad and go on vacation:) )

List the rifle on the EE. Otherwise local stores offer consignment , usually take 30%. Or you can use your 243 as a trade in towards your new 223... but again your likely going to get dinged.
 
I was thinking consigment as that's how I got this one, I didn't realize they took so much of a percentage. Some good options thanks for the input. I'm hesitant to sell since I'm going to take a loss but I would do a lot more shooting if ammo was cheaper so lol.

The EE doesn’t take 30%. Sell it here and keep all your money. You’ll also have far more potential buyers and sell it far faster.
 
Check your local Smith's consignment prices, 15% here which is reasonable and way less annoying then the EE tire kickers lol.
 
Ah, Jeez..No question you will sell it faster on the EE.
Sell the scope and rifle separately (if you decide to sell the scope), you will realize more money.

Shipping is not hard. Wrap the rifle in bubble wrap. Tape the wrap.
If you can't find a box, build one from liquor boxes. Or better, buy some corrugated sheets.

Then take a garden waste bag, cut it open and overwrap the box, with the inside part of the bag on the outside.
Strap it on all sides with filament tape.

The key is the filament tape, I use it on every item I sell.

Strong like steel, wrap around the box, even the Post Office can't damage the rifle.

Good grief. You've shot this rifle hundreds of times and you're worried about taking a loss???? That's what happens with USED FIREARMS.

I see you're from Surrey. Likely you're shooting at a local range???? Talk with some of the folks there and put an ad up in the clubhouse.

Selling on CGN EE is about as safe as selling any other way. Do so with confidence.
 
Don't furgit to re-inforce the bawrill end of the bawx.
Sure don't want this pok'in owt like a pewl cue.
I double this end up with more cardboard and bubble wrap.

I see you are located in Surrey, CGN has lots of members there. If any of them chime in on your thread I'm sure you could reach out to them about your shipping concerns and they could easily walk you through it. As mentioned it's really simple, all the best and give the EE a shot it's a great community
