Stag 10 build and range review

I got my Faxon Big Gunner. It’s an Armalite rifle length gas system too.

This is driving me nuts.

I measured it, it's 3/8" longer from the barrel nut to the gas port than my Proof Research.

Did you have the front sight pinned or is it one of the clamp on sight gas block combo? Could you use a standard delta ring assembly or did you have to get a special one for an ar308? Also, super jealous man. I am trying to figure out how I can do this on my BCL.

The front sight is a clamp on by ARMS. The Delta Ring Assembly is a AR308 specific from DPMS. You just need to make sure your barrel is the Armalite rifle length gas system or the handguards will be too long.

Here's mine, a little different from everyone else's builds so far!

Have you tried finding a delta ring assembly with Armalite threading? I wish you luck because you're going to need it and then some.

is there a build sheet posted for this rifle?
I'm unfamiliar with the necessary components to make that handguard set up work with the stag rifle length gas system and would love to know what components are needed to end up with what you have there on the front half of your rifle ;)

Oh my god, the amount of people quoting a full post with 10 photos is maddening (the one with the broken barrel).

Tip for those who did it: If you want to reply to a post with multiple photos, PLEASE delete all of those photo links in the quote so you're just replying to his text.

Or you could just reply to it without quoting.

It is very inconsiderate to make everyone else scroll through the same 10 pictures five times because you couldn't take the one second to delete the links.

The AR15 handguards will not work with the Stag rifle length gas system. You need to go with an Armalite rifle length gas system for the AR15 handguards to work on the AR10 without modification.

I built this upper from a stripped Stag upper and picked up an Andersen Barrel which has the gas port at the Armalite rifle length on the EE. The DPMS AR308 barrel nut, Delta Ring assembly and Triangular end cap I picked up from Brownells. The ARMS clamp on front sight and Armalite rifle gas tube I was able to source from Wolverine Supplies.

I own a composites shop..... My thinking was I could gather all the parts required and make the composite handguards to suit the Stag-10 rifle length. I've been planning to make my own set of retro furniture so am curious as to all the parts required. I'll take a look at Gravel and see what they have in stock.

I’m so excited to have found this thread! As a new shooter, and a guy who’s looking to beat this potential ban, I was inspired to build up a Stag 10 last night. I ordered the last upper/lower kit from Firearms Outlet and my shipping spree began. It was a little rushed, and hope I haven’t made any errors. Any input or suggestions are welcome.

The build is in 6.5 Creedmoor.

Maple Ridge Armoury 5R Black Nitrate 6.5 Creedmoor 20” barrel
MRA X1 MLOC Handguard 17”
MRA Rock Solid Break
Superlative Adj Gas Block (to be ordered, don’t know if I should get a set screw or clamp version???)
Brownells Nitrate BCG
Magpul CTR stock

I don’t know what charging handle to buy? Not sure what gas tube goes with that block/barrel? Is the trigger that comes with kit usable? Does it need to be upgraded.

Thanks in advance

It’s personal preference for the gas block. I would probably go clamp on.

Rifle length gas tube.

I put Raptor charging handles on everything. The Raptor LT is a cost effective choice.

The trigger is decent.
