Cil 830 .222

That is a Savage 340 sold under the CIL name.

A buddy had one. It was a practical serviceable rifle.

He shot lots of blacktail deer with it on the coastal islands here in B.C.

My buddy has a 340 Sav in a 222 and it is a tackdriver.Loves a load of 19.4 gr IMR 4198 and a 50 gr TNT bullet. I also have 2 of these rifles in 22 Hornet , they too are awesum rifles.

Just bought one.Does anyone shoot one? What kind of accuracy can be expected? Thanks

Really good overall quality. The only downfalls are the single action screw and the wonky side mount scope, but most shoot quite well.

I have one and use it quite a bit. I have all but retired it but it will never be sold.

50gr win sp over 23.4g of h-335 and a fed sr prime has caused loads of jack rabbits to have a very bad day.

Thanks guys.I really don't care for the side mount but when I picked up this gun it just felt right.Groundhogs, crows and 'yotes beware!I just gotta find the perfect scope now.

I have a CIL .222 and have shot 1" groups at 200 yards with a 3x9x40 tasco scope! With a better scope I think that can improve, as well as the distance get longer. try different munitions. I shot 4 or 5 different brands before I found the one for me.
