Well the 10th Canadian Championships are but a fading memory now. This was our last year at Fort Kusk, and as usual it was a great success. I would like to say thanks to the organizers for their hard work and to the many participants who made it fun.

WOW, excellent props! Looks like fun. I have so much tied up in other pursuits, .. I wish i had more time and money to participate in that sport!

We had about 120 shooters. The Fort Kusk bunch did an excellent job as always. The Alberta Frontier shootists have made a deal with the Rocky Mountain House range, and will be moving most of their props and buildings to the RMH facility. The range has a ton of potential, but is going to require 2 tons of work. I expect that Bernie his crew will be ready for next years match.

The Rocky Mountain House gun range is west of the town about 5miles - between Highway #11 and #11A. On the west side of a paved north/south road that has the Pine Hills Golf Course further north on the east side of the road. There is a locked steel gate and sign into the range. Your club membership fee ($50 in 2007) gets you a key to the gate.
The club does not have a web page yet.

... Home of the Rocky Mountain Rangers (check out their website) ...

What now .... another cowboy action shooting club using the popular "Rocky Mountain Rangers" name??? ;)

(Not that it wouldn't be an excellent name for a club in Rocky Mountain House, mind you ....)

Anyway, Google doesn't turn up a website for a group of that name in Rocky Mountain House .... do you have a link?

That is the name used by the Alberta Frontier Shootists for their main annual match, always held on the August long weekend. (Perhaps needless to say, I understand that the use of that name ruffles a few feathers elsewhere in Canada.)

As mentioned above, because the farm on which the AFS range has been sold, they are re-locating to Rocky Mountain House for next year ... so that's where the next "Canadian Championships of Cowboy Action Shooting" will take place ....

(I didn't attend, so can't provide any more photos ....)
