14 Reloading Presses Compared: the BIG Single-Stage Shootout

I'm a little confused. Did he go through all that and then not bother to rank the presses 1-14 based on performance?

So many issues with this. So instance, not enough rounds per test.

Also how in the world does weight have to do with how good the press is. Just because its heavy doesnt mean its accurate.

Generally a heavy press will mean thicker metal which means less flex or distortion under pressure so more consistency from round to round. Weight is not a guarantee of reloading accuracy but a heavy press with a well aligned ram should give more accurate results than a light press with a well aligned ram. Like I said not a guarantee but all other factors being equal heavier should be better.

as i said. being heavy doesnt mean anything. my truck is heavy but it makes terrible ammo. But thank you for proving my point. weight should never be a factor in this. its about accuracy and consistancy. weight would be a byproduct. I was pointing out more of that this test was flawed

The weight is not a factor in the result, unless it'simportant to you. It is simply a specification. There are 2 charts, a spec chart and the results one. Have a look at the one with the runout and standard deviation of sizing results.
Tip TIR is the runout to the tip of the bullet. I'd rate it higher than the other 2 runout measurements (TIR).
I would also rate the base to ogive standard deviation or length avg sd high.
I agree it's a little confusing and not perfect. Take from it as you see fit.
I'm ok with owning the rcbs rockchucker.

I wouldn’t want to process Lake City or IVI 7.62 cases with one. I’d like to see a video of someone doing it with an RCBS Summit as I think it would be as painful.

I had all my reloading packed for a move. Only had the lee hand press. Took apart about 80 338 rum reloads, to legally ship brass and projectile.

Would not be recommended. I broke a decapping pin and had sore hands.

I enjoy some of Ultimate reloader's videos, but he never honestly reviews products as much as he's a showcase for products. I can't think of any videos where he's actually critical of anything.
