I took my brand new X95 out today (just imported this month). It ran like ####. FTF, jams, not locking open on empty.

I think the problem is that the bolt is not travelling all the way back between rounds. Does anyone have experience with this? This is a badass rifle and I want to like it, help!!!

Total opposite of mine - it runs like a champ

It did mess around once but it was pretty dirty, once it was cleaned it was rock solid again

For reference I use 10 round MFT mags

Any chance the internals could be full of grease from the factory?

I did just clean it and I'll take it for a spin in a couple of days. It is brand new and spotless inside so I'm not sure that's the issue. Just to make sure I oiled the #### out of it.

In other news, I tried a pile of different mags: PMags gen 3, D&H, RRA LAR's, Colt. All had the same problem. They all feed properly when chambering a round, that's why I'm thinking the bolt isn't coming back all the way. I'll tell you it's a chore pulling that charging handle too. The ammo should be fine. It's 5.56 military. It runs flawlessly through all my AR's. Maybe it's a break in thing.

Did it run great right out of the box?

What do you mean imported? Is not a standard model we get here in Canada?

tagged for interest, recently bought the X95 - haven't shot it yet.wondering if it prefers 62 grain rather than 55? just a guess.

Mine don't care what it gets fed (55gr / 62gr / brass case / steel case). Literally thousands of rounds through it with no failures or drama.

I find X95s really chuck the brass too. Mine is a 4 - 5 o'clock type of gun.

It could be a break in thing but I doubt it.

Factory ammo or reloads?

I recently bought the X85 Non restricted length, and the very first day out we ran about 300 rounds through it without one issue. I use LAR10 pistol mags, and 2 other kinds of magazines, and we shot American Eagle 5.56 55G XM193 and 5.56 62G XM855. Ran like a champ from the first shot to the last

Doesn't matter. Israeli military has some surplus stores of m193 and currently run m855. Tavor runs both just fine. Same goes for x95 variant.

No such thing as a break in with modern fighting rifles. They should run good from the get go.

Is there any abnormal drag when you cycle the carbine manually?

Check your gas port for obstruction.

Does your brass have abnormal marks or damage to it?

Just wanted to provide an update. My X95 out of the box had the same issues as OP. I was using MFS russian ammo with Gen3 PMAGS.
The bolt would stay closed on the last round, I'd get jam's and feeding issues.

After switching to different ammo (UMC Remington, sub-par garbage ammo too) bolt stayed back on last shot and no more jams.

I had similar issues as OP. Nothing wrong with the rifle. I found most of my magazines were pinned to tight. So I had to test all my magazines. Some of the magazines won't even lock with 5 rounds in them. Also sometimes bolt won't lock back on the last round if I am using metal case ammo.

So I just took mine out and fired 100 rounds through it using MFT pistol mags. It ran like a champ. Bolt would lock open every time on last round. The only issue I had was a mag problem. With 10 rounds loaded, the mag would not fully seat in the rifle(maybe because they were brand new). I had to take out 1 round for it to fully seat. But it had no problems fully seating a 10 round mag if the bolt was locked in the rear position.

Overall I love my X95.
