Was looking for a new small caliber and came across a great deal on a brand new Marlin MR-7 bolt action in 25-06. Love the caliber and love the gun but the woodwork leaves a little to be desired. It is a wood stock but both the fore stock and stock are (a) heavy and (b) too thick. Looks to me like a Winchester M-70 action but I want to make sure before I go and order a new synthetic stock. Can anybody say for sure that it will fit? Cheers

Given that solid "maybe it will unless it won't" from Bartell, I'd go for it! I think it will. Of course, the wood stock could be reshaped as well. Regards, Bill.
