So as the title suggests, i have a CZ75 in 40 cal which i have converted to SAO. The trigger is excellent.
I've never tried loading for top notch accuracy in a pistol until now. I usually make something thats works decent and shoot it but by now I've had enough practice to notice a difference and would like to see how good i can shoot with very good ammo.
I bought some Zero 165 JHP bullets and have tried various charge weights of W231. Today i tested 10 rounds with 5.3 grains of W231 (1040 fps) at 25 yards from a rested position and got a 4" group. I just bought some Titegroup to try. I have some loads made but im waiting for the right day for testing.
I was hoping for better accuracy than 4" but im not unhappy either.
What have been your results? Can better accuracy be had?

My friend Rick at RandR Bullets used to make me a superior cast 155 grain SWC bullet for 40 S&W.
These days I am using the Campro 155grain FCP TC plated bullet from my pal Glen, ProjectileKing.com.

I have found/discovered that a much lighter bullet like the 155g vs the nasty 180 grain, works better.
The starting load for this great 155 grain bullet is 4.2-4.5 grains of your WW231 powder.
40 can be accurate with the right bullet!

I have been using campro 180 grain mostly. It makes an acceptable plinking round but now I'm in search of something much better. I am hoping to find something that will shoot a 2" group at 25 yards.
I dont like shooting lead. Maybe i will have to give the 155 grain campros a try when my bullets are gone.

For my 75B in 40
4.3 gr.s of TG for 180 gr Campro
4.7 gr.s of TG for 165 gr Campro
Both 1.130 OAL

Those are light charges. I tried 4.5 and 4.7 of TG with 180 campro bullets today. 4.5 grains gave a large velocity spread and 4.7 improved it though the accuracy of these loads were nothing special. I also tried 4.9 and 5.1 of TG with my Zero 165 JHP bullets and the same thing happened. More powder lowered my velocity spread. I may have to try this load again. It had the best accuracy of all loads today though not to impressive (4"-5" @ 25 yards)
Maybe it was me so i will have to try again.

I'm running 4.7gr TG behind a 180gr Campro. Getting pretty good results at 15yrds that meets Major PF from my Tanfoglio. Haven't tried at 25yrds as my eyes are sh!t in a dark range.

My comped reflex sighted CZ 75 Champion 40 will shoot inside of 2 inches at 25 yards with a two hand hold and hot 180 loads all day long if I am up to it . The 2lb trigger helps.

Today i fired 40 rounds through the chrono and found some accurate loads. Finally.
8.0 of HS6 behind a Zero 165 jhp gave me a 1.5" 5 round group at 15 yards @ 1112 fps. This load has a lot of snap to it.
I also fired my 180 grain campro plated bullets. Those liked 7.2 grains of HS6 giving me a group of 2 1/8" @ 964 fps.

Have not tried handloading for my CZ 85 in 40 or my SP-01 Tactical in 40. Both like and shoot the the Blazer Brass 180 gr load well enough for me (2" groups offhand at 15 yards).

I tested my new HS6 load at 25 yards today. Im very happy. I got a 2.25" group and one 3" group which looks like it should be 1.75" but one shot ruined it...but its still decent. Ive never shot groups this small.
