In Saskatchewan. Ordered 27 May. Received the shipping notification on 5 June with a delivery date of 12 June. Received transfer notification on 6 June. Received the registration on 10 June and it was ready for pick up on 11 June. Actually picked it up today.
It is a BCL lower and I assume an BCL upper. All the holes and threads are clean, no chatter marks. The upper and lower mate together well. The finish on the upper and lower matches, its a dull finish and it feels smooth but there are some spots on the lower. It almost looks like something was sprayed on it and dried and left spot. It is marked 2017.
I bought this as insurance to transfer to my wife in case the AR becomes prohibited and there is a chance for her to be grandfathered. I am happy with the purchase and buying a mystery box was kind of fun while the mystery lasted. If I bought this knowing it was a BCL receiver set I would still be happy.
Now the stress starts, what caliber, what barrel length, black furniture or some other colour, think I'm getting an ulcer.

I bought one and the way I see it is that this is an insurance policy against what we all thought could have been a ban/grandfathering of the AR platform (and still very much a possibility in the coming days, weeks or months). Those that have ARs already, then it probably wouldn’t have made much sense to get one, considering your lower was probably a higher quality, but for those that didn’t have one, this is a great low-risk option to secure your rights, while the rights are yours. If you did get one and you’re not happy, sell it to someone who cannot afford it, and help a buddy out.
Many of you guys and gals might be too young to remember the changes back in 1998, and those that were able to get their licence and buy what is now prohib are lucky they did. I am still kicking myself for not buying one back then as I missed out on a lot of really cool firearms. I see them at auction for super cheap prices and wish I had bought and held one.
I really didn’t care what type of receiver I would get, as long as I had one registered and if the Libs decide to grandfather these guns, then I am set and can buy another receiver later on. Enjoy the building process, take your time and have some fun.
A lot of you guys have the next 50, 60 or 70 years to enjoy them, and if you don’t have the 160 bucks (I see some lowers at this price point), borrow it if you have to, or you might regret it later on when you have enough money to enjoy the sport like me, but cannot buy the guns that are now prohibited.

That's great, I am also thinking about each part and I have an Excel spreadsheet with all the components listed under tabs. I am slowly going through each item and learning about the differences between xyz. I call it the 5-year AR Plan (whether it takes that long is to be determined), but at least I will have something to do. I already have some guns, so those will keep me busy while I build this beast. I was super overwhelmed, and by breaking up the build into every component, this will give you some small goals and it won't seem daunting and under my plan, I can spend more on the build, as it's broken up over a period of time (so I can buy that $400 trigger assembly). See,this guy gets it! TNA worked to get these into people’s hands so more of us who didn’t own an AR could ,simple as that.
If this is the first lower/set you have, you aren't playing the game right, especially if you have experienced similar before. As I stated, I am not happy with what I got, judged by my own standards.I am sure there are plenty of others out there that would be happy with this set despite the level of fit/finish. That's why I have made it available to some friends who can probably benefit from this opportunity. And just to be clear, there will be no mystery involved when I tell them about it.
5 year AR plan is probably a good plan. When I built my first AR what I found most frustrating was I could never find a dealer with a bunch of parts I wanted so every part came from a different place and shipping costs piled up. I also got impatient and started buying parts that were "close enough" to what I wanted when I probably should have waited.

Mine was A BCL upper & lower. First impressions of the finish was so so, feels like hardened painted cardboard. A quick wipe down with G96 brought made it look much better. Mine is gonna get the ol Krylon spa treatment anyways so I'm not too concerned with the finish. Going for a 10" SBR type thing.
I assembled the lower with a Geissele LPK, BCM trigger & buffer. Everything installed great with no issues. Fitment between the upper & lower is tight with zero play. All my mags dropped free, Lancer, Hera, ASC Lar

I feel like there is a lot of unnecessary tears over the BCL stuff in the mystery boxes. They were so cheap that it was going to be a win no matter what, even for people just wanted to get an AR registered to them in a starved market.
Looking on the bright side, we have: cost, ambi bolt release as novelty bonus, drilled and tapped for a tensioner for upper/lower fitment (mine had zero play anyway, but maybe for folks who want to swap uppers around). Peripherally we also get the added benefits of more ARs to build, meaning more people learning about "hobbying" ARs, the community grows, resulting in more demand for parts, which drives more supply, etc.
My LPK went in with no issues. Yes the tumbled media finish looks a bit weird, but everything seems to be in spec. As Merovingian said, you can always rattle can it.
For $169, I’d say it was a bangin’ deal. Thank you TNA.

Unsure what the game is, but overall I am happy with my purchase. It's like when we were kids and bought the mystery candy bag at the local gas station. Half the fun is the mystery, the other half is finding out what you have.
That would suck! But historically, have they done this before, like with the CZ or Swiss guns?
Just received my lower BCL in the mail from TNA. Looks good, no issues, the holes are fine, I haven't tried the grip screw, and the other threads are clean. Otherwise, I'm looking at a black painted metal lower. Maybe if you are into glam guns, this wouldn't pass the pearls and tea cup test, but I think it's just fine for shooting.
Oh and a side note, I called the RCMP to ask how to store this dangerous gun (lower). They said to lock it in a box, and just don't leave it out on your table. I would confirm this as we all know that calling several times will yield several different answers.

Hah nice. Has anyone run into any problems with buying gun locks??? I hear the liberals are going to ban them so we can't lock up our firearms and therefore we will be non compliant. Those sneaky suckers.
