There are elk in lanark, so that would be my guess

Definitely not elk. The shape and branching is typical of caribou. The location would indicate woodland caribou. "Reindeer" are similar but are native to Scandinavia and northern Asia, not Canada.
Some old fart probably playing a joke and just dropped an antler off in the bush.

Lol, you sick bastard I love it. I’ve done the same with crackheads, I made up crack baggies with stevia rocks and dropped them randomly in view of where I worked. It’s amazing how fast they got snatched up by the Granville st zombies lol.
Now, I was told of doing similar outside a Blacksmiths shop in Boston, except they used the dried white dog turds from the vacant lot next door.
As to the antler, my first thoughts would be to consider that it was simply a non-typical off a White tail. All manner of odd, gibbled, and gimped antlers out there.
As far as range brass scattered about, I figure that a couple fellas with a few handfuls of the stuff could put a complete and total end to the foolishness of evacuating schools and the like, that the police and others seem to use as their default 'safe' maneuver when an empty case is found. Maybe enough of it goes around and they'll simply teach kids that the stuff isn't radioactive, and that it can't actually hide in the grass and strike at them, and that if they find it, they should just drop it in the bin.
There are Reindeer in Canada. But not in the location posted.

If you ever visit several places in the north such as Inuvik, this is the source of meat for thier "caribou" burgers sold at a few local resterants.
Close enough and very tasty.

When comparing the photo, to the antlers of the mountain caribou, hanging on my wall, they are identical in configuration. So, my vote is caribou.
