NIB H&K P7M8 - What’s It Worth?

Hi Folks,

I have what is possibly a NIB (Or LNIB) H&K P7M8. I picked it up a few years ago and it has been a safe queen ever since. I have never shot it. It has the original box (with matching S/N), user guide and target, cleaning tools, magazine, and even what I presume is the original silica pack. The date code is 2004. There are no marks on the barrel and it shows so sign of ever being used. The finish is perfect with no plum colour as typically seen with older P7 models.

What is it worth?

I'd be inclined agree with the $3500+/- estimate. I sold a P7 PSP last year with the case, tools, etc and got just over 3K. I think the 8M's are a little less common. The ones I've seen go at auction in the last couple of years have all been 3-ish or better.....in some cases close to 4 with buyer's premium and HST factored in.

Having said that Harry C is a pretty knowledgeable collector. If he's saying 2500-ish there may be a reason I'm unaware of. Has the market softened in recent months?

You could push it to $3k for the collector value if proven NIB otherwise I would definitely say $2600. Unless you send it at auction where bidding wars and hammer + fees reaches unrealistic prices... And you would have to give a nice chunk of change to the auctioneer.

Prices on the EE for high end stuff have indeed softened in the last year sailor. But hey, you only need one buyer so go for the home run and list it for $4k! You never know.

I’ve missed a refurb PSP on the EE last week for $1200 shipped... that was a steal!

Remember the used Korth that sold for nearly $9k after hammer fees, shipping and tax. You could order one with the extra 9mm cylinder for less than that brand new today!

A good condition in box P7M8 went in minutes for 3K a month ago. I got close to 4 for one of mine. Start high, you can always drop.

Besides the $1200 PSP that Harry Callahan referenced, the last P7M8 listed that I saw was by user Danoiwan in early May for $5k and I would have rated it in Good+ condition. It quickly dropped to $4k and the last I saw was $3900. In box, 6 mags, tools, Comp-Tac holster, manual included.
As far as I know it did not sell.
Harry Callahan is right that the market for high end iron has softened with the latest Liberal shenanigans but the desireability of the P7 series seems to maintain a higher price point. $3k for what the OP describes is a reasonable price given the 2004 date code, perhaps a bit on the high side. The late 70’s and early 80’s productions tend to be more collectible.

Any p7 sells almost instantly. People just seem to have the hots for them, just because they are so different, and they look great. Mine is satin chrome, and despite some of its flaws (if you shoot 40-50 rds. thru them it gets too hot to touch above the trigger) it will be one of the last guns to go. I am spending more time in the states and thought about it for ccw, but it's heavy compared to some of the newer designs

This is mine, with all the spare mags. I wouldn't hesitate to ask 3k, but I'm not planning on selling

I have a spare m13 I’ve debated listing. My buddy got that cheap psp, so happy for him. It’ll be his shooter for a long time. I saw that 3k m8 right when it posted and almost jumped on it. Had I not been in rough shape from a recent semi auto rifle splurge I would have added it. On that note, my handgun collection has taken a hit in the last year with funds focused on semis. I love my m13, but it’s a little big. I think a m8 would be my ideal P7.

There was minty mint one (M8) three mags, box, tools etc for $2800 shipped last month on the EE. It went fast, maybe a hour, I pm’ed I’ll take but as agent 86 would say
